ALLENTOWN – Rob Dvoracek rushed for 374 yards and six touchdowns to lead the Trojans over Allentown Central Catholic in a Lehigh Valley Conference Football game Satruday night at J. Birney Crum Stadium.
Dvoracek talked about scoring six touchdowns, “The most I ever scored before was three my sophomore year against East Stroudsburg South. I think this is the most I ever had.”
Parkland head coach Jim Morgan’s plan was simple last night. Use his huge offensive line and pound the Vikings by using the “Bobcat” formation with direct snaps mainly to Dvoracek Saturday night.
“I hate the term wildcat”, Morgan said. “But we call it the Bobcat.”
The running attack was led by tight ends David Wong, Matt Laub and Mike Turrell and offensive linemen Eric Burleson, Jake Pope, Mike Unger, Tyler Haas, Ryan Deiter and Zach Polzer. They led the way amassing over 550 yards on the ground.
Dvoracek said, “We came into the game and attacked them up front and we knew we were tougher than them up front. It came down to our O-Line taking over.”
Central Catholic’s All-Star quarterback Brendan Nosovitch led the way in the first half. He rushed for three touchdowns of three, two, and one yards. In one play he hit Kevin Guylas for an 80-yard bomb.
Dvoracek rushed for two touchdowns and Jarel Elder added a 23-yard run.
Central Catholic led 27-21 at halftime.
“I think in the third quarter we had the stamina and they didn’t.” Dvoracek said, “We have been working hard all off-season. “
The Trojans came out at halftime and made a statement. They drove 62 yards for the score. Dvoracek’s one-yard swan dive put the Trojans up by one, 28-27.
Their defense took over in the quarter forcing the Vikings to punt. The Trojans defense forced two turnovers and two punts in the second half.
“We finally got that one stop,” Morgan said, “We finally got up two scores and started to feel more comfortable.”
Morgan got his wish. Elder’s 22-yard run with 5:49 remaining in the third quarter put them up by two scores.
The Trojans out scored the Vikings four touchdowns to two. “That football game was crazy!”, Morgan said.
The Vikings where led by the dynamic duo Brandon Nosovitch and Kevin Gulyas. Nosovitch threw for over 400 yards and rushed for over 100. Gulyas caught 15 passes for 275 yards.
Parkland (5-2) host undefeated Nazareth next Friday night. Allentown Central Catholic (2-5) travels to Dieruff.

J- Yes their offense is better than Nazareth. Not by much but a little bit better. More versatile.
Dog- You do not want to see an ACC/Wood rematch, unless your a Wood fan. Wood could rush for a 1000 yards and most likely hit the 70 point mark if not higher. ACC would still score but the Wood is better than last year and would get some stops. But No way ACC could stop Wood.
And YES absolutely Parkland Offensive Line and Dvorcheck great game. Their were time Dvorcheck was not even touched on his way to the endzone.
it’s a shame. I was hoping to see a Wood-ACC rematch.
Let’s give a TON of credit to the Parkland offensive line. Dvoracek is a beast with the football in his hands (Temple is getting a good kid) but their line won them the game. When you allow a back as big as Robbie a few yards untouched with his momentum, forget it. Parkland has a heck of a battle next week against a Nazareth team that struggles to stop the run. Interesting contest to say the least!
Credit to Rob D, that kid can play football.
ACC best offense? I think you might want to head east to Nazareth to find the best offense. i think the ACC train stopped last year, great team, great QB/rec, great coaching staff, but this isnt their year. The Blue Eagles are proving they are worthy of a shot at an LVC crown.
lot of football left however..
CCHS needs to learn how to tackle and play off blocks. Center needs to SNAP the ball to the QB not float it. Probably only 2 more wins this season.Best QB/recvr in the state.
defense has killed em man. their offense is the best in the conference and their defense is among the worst. need to make changes there all they do is stunt and its not working with studs like sandherr and mcneely gone when you lose D1 talent it hurts big time and its showing. the defensive scheme needs to be changed and its too late they prob wont make districts now
What happened to ACC this year. Weren’t they the AAA favorites this year? Wow!
