Philadelphia Catholic League Players of the Week
Week of August 29th, 2022
Offensive Player of the Week:
Stevie Davis – LaSalle – RB – Junior
Davis was a workhorse in the Explorers’ comeback, 37-28, victory at North Penn. Displaying savvy and toughness, Davis carried 31 times for 238 yards and one score. He added another score on a 23-yard reception. Having to wait his turn behind LaSalle all-timer Sam Brown, the talented Davis is primed for a breakout season.
Defensive Player of the Week:
Jah Jah Boyd – Roman – DB – Junior
Boyd helped the Cahillites cement an impressive road win at Wilson West Lawn with a second-half 90-yard interception return for a touchdown. With the Bulldogs driving, Boyd neatly stepped in from of a receiver and raced untouched down the Cahillites’ sideline. Boyd added 3 tackles and a trio of pass defends in an active game for the junior defensive back.
Special Teams Player of the Week:
Sincere Fairey – Conwell-Egan – PR/DE – Sophomore
Fairey did his part in helping the Eagles frolic in their season opener over Upper Merion, 47-20. Fairey took his only punt return back 79 yards for an easy-as-pie score. Defensively, he had 5 stops, including a pair of sacks and a forced fumble to cap a solid all-around effort for the Eagles.
