Each week the National Football Foundation – Lehigh Valley Chapter, selects a high school football player of the week from its 33 local high schools. Players are listed below:
Week 10 – Caden Henritzy, a junior running back from Northampton Area High School, rushed for 186 yards and 4 touchdowns. His team beat Whitehall 42-7.
Week 9 – Jake Fotta, a senior quarterback from Emmaus High School, was 18-24 passing for 282 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also rushed for 78 yards on 12 carries and 3 touchdowns. His team beat Easton 42-21.
Week 8 – Brad Rissmiller, a quarterback from Pen Argyl High School, was 10-14 passing for 256 yards and 4 touchdowns. He also rushed for 1 touchdown. He had 5 tackles on defense. His team beat Schuylkill Haven 39-16.
Week 7 – Mason Kuehner, a junior wide receiver from Nazareth Area High School, rushed for 31 yards and 3 touchdowns on 7 carries. He also had 78 yards receiving on 3 catches and scored a touchdown. His team beat Allentown Central Catholic 42-14.
Week 6 – Matt Machalik, a junior quarterback from Palmerton High School, accounted for 8 touchdowns (6 passing and 2 rushing). He passed for 342 yards and also rushed for 117 yards. The 6 touchdown passes and 342 yards passing in one game are both school records. His team beat Pine Grove 53-28.
Week 5 – Nigel Linton, a running back from Whitehall High School, rushed 17 times for 164 yards and 2 touchdowns. His team beat Parkland High School 32-31.
Week 4 – Jalen Fletcher, a senior running back from Freedom High School, rushed 24 times for 194 yards and 2 touchdowns. In addition, on defense intercepted a pass and returned it for the game-winning touchdown. His team beat previously unbeaten Nazareth Area High School 45-35.
Week 3 – Steve Lilly, a senior running back from Palisades High School, rushed for 165 yards and scored 5 touchdowns. He also added an interception. His team beat previously unbeaten Palmerton 47-40.
Week 2 – Sonny Sasso, a senior quarterback from Nazareth Area High School, was 12-22 passing for 144 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also rushed 15 times for 70 yards. His team beat Parkland 28-10 to move to 2-0 on the season.
Week 1 – Caiden Shaffer, a senior running back from Allentown Central Catholic High School, rushed 17 times for 93 yards and 4 touchdowns. He scored the game-winning touchdown in a 34-28 victory over Liberty.
