Winners of five straight after tonight’s 26-21 victory, it’s hard to believe that Berwick once upon a time sported a 1-3 record in the middle of September. The Dawgs were led this evening by senior Jeremy Freeman. The 5’11, 205-pound bruising runner gained 126 yards on 24 attempts and scored three times. Freeman has rushed for over 100-yards in eleven of his last twelve games since October 22, 2010. Berwick’s quarterback Jared Pierce also had a big night with 83 yards rushing and 42 stripes passing.
The Bulldogs have a leg up on the Crusaders for the final playoff spot in the District.
Coughlin hung their hats on the legs of Joe Parsnik. The senior tailback took home game-high honors with 189 yards rushing. As Parsnik also scored three times.
The Bulldogs (6-3) will play their regular season finale at Hazleton next Friday as the Crusaders (5-4) will battle Crestwood.
