About a week ago, Bishop McDevitt quarterback Matt Johnson didn’t have any Division-1 offers.
Things can change very quickly, especially in the world of recruiting.
Johnson, a 6’0, 194-pound senior to be, now possesses a trio of offers, from Bowling Green, Miami-OH and Temple, according to his profile on Rivals.com. Johnson has also received interest from Boston College, Pitt, Iowa, Rutgers and Virginia. Earlier this year, Johnson’s profile listed interest coming from UCONN, LSU, Maryland and Penn State, though none of those four schools currently grace Johnson’s profile.
Johnson threw for 2,731 yards and 33 touchdowns last year, guiding McDevitt to a 12-1 record and a berth in the District 3 “AAAA” championship game against Cumberland Valley. For his career, Johnson has thrown for 4,741 yards and 55 touchdowns.
With Johnson at the helm the last two years, McDevitt has gone 22-4 overall and averaged over 400 yards of offense and 40 points per game.
