In terms of number of scholarship offers, Boyertown’s Chris Muller, a 6’6, 300-pound senior-to-be, is the second-highest recruited offensive lineman in the Keystone State’s 2012 class, trailing only Pennsbury’s J.J. Denman (25 total offers).
Muller is up to 17 verbal scholarship offers, according to national recruiting services Scout.com and Rivals.com. His offer list includes the following programs: Boston College, Bucknell, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern, Penn State, Pitt, Purdue, Rutgers, South Carolina, Temple, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin. Programs like Alabama, Georgia, Miami (FL), LSU, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Texas Tech have shown interest in the Bears’ prospect.
Scout.com ranks Muller as the #48 offensive tackle in the nation in the 2012 class. He was part of a Boyertown offensive line that helped pave the way for an arsenal which averaged 360.5 yards (250 rushing, 110.5 passing) and 32.8 points per game, scoring 56 total touchdowns. The Bears’ offensive arsenal included four backs with between 540 and 660 rushing yards and a 1,300-yard passer.
Boyertown finished 10-2 in 2010, reaching the opening round of the District 1 AAAA playoffs, where the Bears were eliminated by Bayard Rustin, 21-13.
