Harry S. Truman High School (District 1 – Class 6A) is looking for a New Head Coach.

Harry S Truman High School is accepting applications for Head Football Coach

    • Job Description: 
      • The Varsity Head Football Coach provides leadership for the Varsity, JV, and JH Football programs including but not limited to: 
        • participant and community relations; instructing participants, overseeing safety, supervising instructors and volunteers, budgeting, assisting in scheduling, attending meetings such as coaching clinics, rule interpretation meetings, and any league meetings; preparing reports such as early dismissal times, team rosters, and end of the season reports. 
        • This position is directly responsible for the operations of a high school competitive program and works with the Athletic Director to ensure the success of our student-athletes. 
        • The candidate should have knowledge of the PIAA rules and fundamentals of the sport and be willing to work with secondary students. Playing or coaching experience is preferred. The coach is to be an exemplary role model for the athletes, school, community, and District.
  • Qualifications: 
  • The candidate should have a desire to work with student-athletes, be enthusiastic, patient, organized, mature, dependable, and responsible
    • Strong written/oral communication skills required
    • Ability to recruit staff to assist with the program
    • The position holder must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
    • ACT 34 Criminal History Backgroung Check and Act 151 Child Abuse Clearance from the State of Pennsylvania, and a FBI Background Check are required
    • Delegates specific duties, supervises implementation and, at season’s end, analyzes staff effectiveness and evaluates all assistants.
    • Serves as a mentor to each athlete to promote the development and demonstration in student athletes the character traits of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship
