When you think of District 1 “AAAA” representative Conestoga High School, chances are the thought of progressive offensive attacks and a potent passing game come to mind.
A leading returning receiver for Conestoga is generating some Division-1 interest and even has a pair of scholarship offers.
Dexter Bridge, a 6’2, 185-pound senior-to-be, has received scholarship offers from Illinois and North Carolina State, according to Scout.com, and interest from schools like Boston College, Michigan State, Rutgers, Syracuse and Virginia.
As a junior, Bridge hauled in 42 passes for 692 yards (16.47 yds/rec.) and 12 touchdowns – good enough to earn 1st Team All Chester County accolades, according to Scout. In his sophomore year, Bridge caught 29 passes for 756 yards (26.06 yds/rec.) and 11 touchdowns.
Bridge is also a threat on special teams for Conestoga.
After a 2-2 start, the Pioneers won five of their next six games to finish the regular season 7-3, but were eliminated in the opening round of the District 1 “AAAA” playoffs in a 40-8 loss to Downingtown West. Conestoga averaged nearly 24.4 points per game in 2009.
