vinceweek72013The Comets are a mirror image of last year. Crestwood fell to Berwick in the season opener and then rattled off six straight wins. This year, it was the same routine after their 42-0 win over the visiting Panthers of Pocono Mountain West. Crestwood has outscored their opponents during their win streak by a combined total of 226-61.

Six of the previous seven meetings between the Panthers and the Comets were decided by 7 points or less.

The Comets’ defense held the Panthers to just 53 total yards in the first half.

Crestwood’s signal caller Jay Popson scored 3 of the team’s 6 rushing touchdowns on the night. Frank Aigeldinger scored his 11th touchdown as he plunged in from 2-yards away. Aigeldinger led the Comets in the rushing with 152 yards on 18 carries.

Crestwood improves to 4-0 at home this season.

Pocono Mountain West had dropped their first four contests, then winning their past two. However, the Panthers have yet to win away from home this year (0-3).

The last time Pocono Mountain West had defeated Crestwood was in 2005 (24-6).

Next up, Crestwood takes on Dallas next Saturday. Pocono Mountain West (2-5) will travel to Dieruff.
