Delaware High School football Recaps Week 4

Jason Wiberg’s 2 touchdown receptions along with Billy Gibbs 2 touchdown runs paced the Vikings of Cape Henlopen at 4-0 to a 35-20 win over the Riders of Caesar Rodney.

Austin Lonski’s 4 yard touchdown run John Flamer’s 13 carries for 86 yards scored 2 touchdown runs of 2 and 6 yards paced the Lake Forest Spartans to a 27-7 win over the Delmar Wildcats.

Connor Estep’s 12 completions out of 20 attempts for 270 yards threw 3 touchdown passes along with an 85 yarder to Dalton Ziemba paced the St. Marks Spartans to a 38-27 win over the Dover Senators.

Raekwon Knight’s 3 yard touchdown run along with Kiante Sturgis touchdown run of 4 yards paced the Indians of Indian River to a 21-14 win over the Milford Bucs.

Ben Campbell 17 completions out of 25 attempts for 231 yards threw for 3 touchdown passes and rushed 10 times for 81 yards paced the Yellowjackets of Newark to a 34-6 win over Delcastle.

PROSPECT PARK, Pa. – Caravel trailed by three touchdowns at halftime, mounted a furious second-half comeback, but fell short as it lost to Interboro 35-28 on Friday night.

The Buccaneers trailed 28-7 at halftime before rallying in the third quarter to outscore Interboro 21-7. Caravel drove deep into Interboro territory in the fourth quarter but couldn’t convert a fourth and one play with 2:30 to go.

Quarterback Jackson Argoe went 10 for 19 for 160 yards for Caravel and threw touchdown passes of 35 yards to Jason Nunley and 20 yards to Bryce Carney. Darnell Savage ran for 139 yards on just six carries and scored on runs of 48 and 51 yards. Carney had five catches for 88 yards.

William Penn 44, Appoquinimink 0

MIDDLETOWN – Quarterback D.J. Johnson threw three touchdown passes to lead William Penn to a victory over Appoquinimink in Blue Hen Flight A action.

Johnson went 5 for 8 for 141 yards and fired scoring tosses of 13 and 25 yards to Frank Burton and 68 yards to ChiChi Amachi. The Colonials also got rushing touchdowns of 44 yards from Marvel Watts, 46 yards from Myric Rhodes and 16 yards from Chris Davis. Reggie Carroll led William Penn with 71 yards on the ground, all of it coming in the first half as the Colonials built up to a a 30-0 lead.

Salesianum 28, Glen Mills (Pa.) 0

GLEN MILLS, Pa. – Quarterback Garrett Cannon went 10 for 12 for 124 yards and a touchdown as Salesianum blanked Glen Mills.

Cannon threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Mike Ziccarelli in the second quarter. Evander Blue led the Sals in rushing with 80 yards and scored a touchdown on a 10-yard run in the third quarter. Colby Reeder scored on a 16-yard run in the first quarter while Mike Sanzone added a 28-yard scoring run in the third quarter.

Smyrna 48, Polytech 40

SMYRNA – Nolan Henderson threw five touchdown passes and scored another touchdown on the ground to lead Smyrna to a victory in a Henlopen Conference North game.

Henderson threw 50-, 42- and 25-yard scoring passes to Charlie Taylor and also tossed touchdown strikes to Marquelle Bennett and William Knight. Knight also scored on a 43-yard run in the fourth quarter that gave the Eagles their eventual winning margin.

2 touchdown runs by Vincent Del Percio of 11 and 53 yards paced the Cavaliers of Middletown to a 49-14 win over the Glasgow Dragons.

Isaiah Woodland 5-15 140 yds 4 rushed 120 yds 1 td along with teammates Quintae Moore’s 75 yd punt return and Taron Johnson 65 yd int return paced the Titans of Moyer Academy to a 20-2 win over Cardinal McCarrick NJ. This is Moyer’s First victory of 2014.

1 touchdown each by Donovan Simpson and Anthony Holly for St. Andrews as they were defeated by Maret School of DC 44-12.

Jashawn Johnson’s 22 yard pass to Rob Myrick and Dannon Williams 34 yard run paced the Green Knights of Mt. Pleasant to a 13-6 win over Howard.

2 touchdown runs by Antonio Young of 1 and 14 yards paced the Rams of Dickinson to a 28-0 win over the Vikings of Christiana.

Titus Nelson’s 2 touchdown runs of 80 yards and 1 for 25 yards paced the Redskins of Conrad to a 48-14 win over George School. Dayne Llamas added 2 touchdown runs of 2 and 6 yards.

Matthew Smith’s 3 touchdown passes of 13, 17 and 55 yards to Andrew Brown paced the Hillers of Tower Hill to a 30-0 win over the Hornets of Tatnall.

Brian Dennis returned the opening kickoff 85 yds as Concord jumped out to a 41-0 halftime lead to beat Charter 48-22 in a Flight A Contest . Concord RB Brycen Alleyne scored three times on runs of 84 and 32 yds and also returned a KO 84 yds for TD in the second half to lead the Raiders.
