District 11 Top Returning Players Week 10

DISTRICT 11 NOTES (week 10):   

RUNNINGBACKS: 

Luke Stevenosky of Minersville rushed for over 200 yards (234) for the 5th time this season and went over 2,000 yards on the year in the process (2,077). Stevenosky upped his single season school td record to 31 and his career school record to 55. Colm McGroarty of Mahanoy Area rushed for 241 yards and scored 4 td’s in week 10 and in the process set a new shool career yardage record. McGroarty joined the “4,000 yard” club and now has rushed for 4,134 yards in his career. Ziggy Dudash held the old record when he rushed for 4,033 yards from 1997-99. McGroarty has scored 62 td’s in his career which ties him for 29th place in the District with Jeremy Mack of Southern Lehigh (1995-98), Tim Barlok of Bethlehem Catholic (1996-98), Desmond Spady of Pius X (1996-98), and Niko Petrone of ES South (2011-13). Matt Machalik of Palmerton hit the 5,000 yard career rushing mark in week 10 and now has 5,175 yards. He also scored 3 more times to break his own single seaon school record that he set as a sophomore. Machalik has scored 33 times this season and 91 times in his career. His 91 td’s breaks the tie with Woody Petchel and he stands alone in 5th plae all-time in the District. Alex Achenbach of Williams Valley rushed for over 200 yards for the 8th time this year when he rushed for 201 yards and scored 2 td’s in week 10. Achenbach leads the District with 2,338 rushing yards. He’s rushed for 6,299 yards in his career which is still 7th best all-time in the District. Achenbach’s 77 td’s ties him with Evan Culver of Saucon Valley for 13th place all-time in the District. Culver scored 77 td’s from 2013-15. Trey Tremba of Parkland has scored 59 td’s in his career and moves up 5 spots into a tie for 38th place all-time in the District. Brendan Nosovitch of Central Catholic (2008-11) and Northwestern’s Harry Hall (2012-15) and Cade Christopher (2020-22) all scored 59 td’s in their career. Valentino Bryers-Wearing of Pleasant Valley (1,056 yards), and Jed Bendekovits of Nazareth (1,046 yards) went over 1,000 yards rushing for their careers last week. Dalton Clymer of Northwestern rushed for 240 yards last week to put him over 1,000 yards for the season. Clymer has rushed for 1,153 yards and scored 21 td’s this season. Payton Fasnacht of Blue Mountain (1,109 yards), Niko Carestia of Schuylkill Haven (1,083 yards), and Noah Pierre of Freedom (1,022 yards) all went over 1,000 yards rushing for the season. Joey Flail of North Schuylkill has scored 50 career td’s. He’s the 2nd receiver to scored 50 td’s for their career. Kevin Gulyas of Central Catholic has the most for a receiver when he scored 57 td’s from 2008-11. Cade Sawyer of Southern Lehigh is also currently at 50 career td’s, and Northampton’s Caden Henritzy is one behind with 49 career td’s scored. Machalik leads the District with 33 td’s and is followed by Stevenosky with 31 td’s. Danny Darno of Notre Dame went over 2,000 yards rushing in week 10 (2,008).

QUARTERBACKS:

Danny Darno of Notre Dame is the first QB to reach 2,000 yards passing this season. Darno has exactly 2,000 yards and also leads the District with 24 td passes. Luke Spang of Parkland threw for 231 yards and 4 td’s last week to up his season totals to 1,647 yards passing and 21 td passes. Spang also reached 50 career td passes which is the 2nd highest total at Parkland. Devante Cross holds the record when he threw 64 td passes from 2013-15. Brad Rissmiller of Pen Argyl joined the “4,000 yard” club last week and has thrown for 4,054 yards in his career which is the 2nd highest total at Pen Argyl. Nathan Hood owns the school record when he threw for 4,490 yards from 2007-10. Rissmiller owns the school career records for most completions (300), and most pass attempts (549). Brady O,Donnell of Lehighton also owns his school career records for completions (348), and pass attempts (633). O’Donnell needs 39 yards to break the school career passing yardage record and needs 45 yards to join the “4,000 yard” club. Also joining Machalik, Rissmiller, and O’Donnell for their school records for completions and attempts is Trey Dogmantis of Whitehall.  Dogmantis has 345 career completions on 618 career pass attempts. Both are school records. O’Donnell (1,222 yards), and Greg Campbell of Bangor (1,171 yards) both went over 1,000 yards passing in week 10. Machalik has 5,744 career passing yards which moves him up 1 spot into 19th place all-time in the District. He drops Mark Borda of Bethlehem Catholic down to 20th place. Darno has thrown for 5,239 career yards which is good enough for 32nd place all-time.

RECEIVERS:

Andrew Olesh of Southern Lehigh (1,049 yards), and Jack Robertson of Saucon Valley (1,042 yards) went over 1,000 yards receiving for their careers. Robertson caught 8 passes for 179 yards and a td in week 10. Damian Tyminski of Pen Argyl leads the District with 57 receptions. Justin Yescavage leads the District in reception yardage with 944 yards. Conner Johns of Parkland caught 3 td passes last week and now has 10 on the season. Three more new players made the chart in week 10 with 500 career receiving yards. They are, Jake Puksyzn of Liberty (545 yards), Mason Bollinger of Northwestern (525 yards), and Josh Louk of Jim Thorpe (501 yards).

Joey Flail (North Schuylkill) 165 catches (tied for 6th place with Tyminski)

Jareel Calhoun (Central Catholic) 159 catches (tied for 11th place with Miguel Hernandez of Catasaqua 2014-16)

Mason Kuehner (Nazareth) 156 catches (tied for 9th place all-time) played QB in week 10

Kuehner 2,469 yards (12th best)

Nick Ryan (Shenandoah Valley) 2,132 yards (19th best) no stats reported week 10

Ryan 26 (tied for 23th best ) with Owen Daniel of Williams Valley (2010-12), Matt Kistler of Tamaqua (2016-19), and Christian Sapp of ES South (2018-20).
