District 11 Top Returning Players Week 6

RUNNINGBACKS: 

Eli Zimmerman of Northwestern rushed for a school record 271 yards and 2 td’s in week 6. Brett Snyder held the old record when he rushed for 266 yards vs Notre Dame in 1995. Zimmerman has rushed for 833 yards and scored 14 td’s this season. Junior Niko Carestia of Schuylkill Haven rushed for 333 yards and 3 td’s to up his District leading totals to 1,316 yards rushing and 21 td’s scored. Carestia also went over 3,000 career rushing yards (3,245). Jameson Trainer of Palmerton rushed for 202 yards and a td vs Wilson in week 6 and also threw for 198 yards and 3 td’s. Charles Capers of ES South (1,108 yards), Aaron Beete of Freedom (1,093 yards), and Colton Reber of Schuylkill Haven (1,029 yards) all joined the chart after week 6. I failed to mention that Chris Ward of Pleasant Valley rushed for 201 yards in week 5.

QUARTERBACKS:

Matt Bodnar of Notre Dame threw for 419 yards and 4 td’s in week 6 to up his District leading totals to 2,169 yards passing and 22 td passes. Chase Walker of Freedom had his 5th 200 yard passing game when he threw for 227 yards and 2 td’s in their win over ES South. Colton Sams of Southern Lehigh threw for 209 yards and 4 td’s vs Jim Thorpe to up his season totals to 1.279 yards and 12 td passes. Sams’ yardage is the second highest this season behind Bodnar. Walker is third with 1,261 yards. Brady Strause of Blue Mountain threw for 225 yards and 4 td passes in week 6. The junior joins the chart as he went over 1,000 yards passing in his first season (1,110). Sophomore Andrew Allen of Pottsville also went over 1,000 yards (1,140) for the season and is added to the chart. Antonio Fontanez of Liberty went over 3,000 yards passing in his career (3,062) and the junior also hit the 25 td pass mark for his career. Cole Ordway of Easton threw for 220 yards and 2 td’s vs Stroudsburg to put him over 2,000 yards passing (2,075) for his career. Jeramy Cressman of Wilson threw for 198 yards and 3 td’s last week to also go over 2,000 yards passing in his career (2,103 yards). Cole Lazorick of Jim Thorpe threw for 274 yards and 2 scores in week 6 and Rocco Delguidice of PM East threw for exactly 200 yards and a td. Other qb’s going over 1,000 yards passing for the season in week 6 were Ivan Laubach of ES South (1,015 yards), and Peyton Falzone of Nazareth (1,006 yards).

RECEIVERS:

We have a great race in all 3 categories. Justin Yescavage of Jim Thorpe leads the District with 34 receptions. Kian Krzyzanowski of Williams Valley is 2nd with 33 catches, followed by Xzavier Pusateri of ES South with 32, Carmine Diaz of Notre Dame 31, and both Ethan Dudsak of Stroudsburg and Jonathan Striba of Notre Dame with 30 catches. For the yardage lead, Krzyzanowski is at the top with 597 yards followed closely by Diaz (590), Pusateri (589), and Noah Dolbin of Nativity (576 yards). Krzyzanowski also leads in td receptions with 9 followed by both Manny Bolmer of Catasauqua and Diaz who both have 8 td receptions. Gaige Guers of Blue Mountain broke the school career receiving yardage record in week 6. Guers has 1,191 yards which breaks the old record of 1,166 yards that Charlie Schultz set from 1998-2000. Carter Vassa of Bethlehem Catholic went over 1,000 career receiving yards in week 6. The sophomore has 1,077 career yards. Four more players joined the chart in week 6, Carmine Diaz of Notre Dame (590 yards), Amare DuBoise of Freedom (533 yards), Robbie Schaeffer of Pine Grove (522 yards), and Ethan Dudsak of Stroudsburg (521 yards).  

Noah Dolbin of Nativity career receiving total watch:

125 receptions – tied for 26th place all-time in the District with KJ Williams of Liberty (2010-13)

2,529 yards – 13th place all-time in the District (12th place occupied by Parish Marshall of Catasauqua) 2,541 yards from 2011-13
