District 2 Talk Week 5

Dunmore

Josh Burton’s opening kickoff set the stage for Dunmore as they went on for the convincing 48-7 win over Western Wayne.

Dunmore had 228 total yards of offense and on defense they held Western Wayne to 127 yards.

Michael Perry had touchdown runs of 5, 23 and 2 yards.

Dunmore (5-0) plays next at Montrose Area.

Old Forge

Old Forge used a potent running attack as Old Forge shut out Nanticoke Area 54-0.

The Blue Devils rushed for 303 yards, Brian Morris led the way with 130 yards on 11 carries and 5 touchdowns. Malkolm Blackshear rushed for 71 yards and two scores.

The Blue Devils had 384 total yards of offense and they held Nanticoke Area to 79 yards.

Morris had touchdown runs of 54,1,3,8 and 8 yards.

Old Forge (5-0) travels to Holy Cross.

Wilkes-Barre Coughlin

Crusader sophomore Joe Parsnik ran 22-yards for the game winning touchdown with 1:03 remaining as Wilkes-Barre Coughlin won against Pittston Area 19-13.

Parsnik also rushed for a 96-yard touchdown run and he finished with 125 yards rushing on 10 carries. Matt Shimshock rushed for 151 yards on 27 carries.

Wilkes-Barre Coughlin (3-2) hosts Tunkhannock.

Abington Heights

Abington Heights used a balanced attack Saturday afternoon against Wallenpaupack and rolled to a 38-0 win in a Lackawanna Football Conference Division one game.

Mike Beamish completed 6 of 12 passes for 96 yards and one touchdown. He rushed for 42 yards.

Abington Heights (5-0) travels to North Pocono.
