District 2 Talk Week 9

Old Forge

Old Forge used a balanced attack scoring two touchdowns each from the air and on the ground as Old Forge defeated Mid-Valley 28-6.

Brian Morris rushed for 90 yards on 21 carries and one score. He caught two passes for 39 yards and another score.

Malkom Blackshear completed 3 of 6 passes for 82 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 39 yards on 6 carries and a score.

Blackshear’s touchdown passes went for 25 and 43 yards.

Old Forge (9-0) hosts Susquehanna Community.

Abington Heights

Abington Heights Paul Gallagher and James Fruehan led the Comets over Tunkhannock 37-6.

Fruehan rushed for 70 yards on six carries and three touchdowns. Gallagher rushed for 161 yards on 15 carries and one score.

Mike Umerich rushed for 73 yards on two carries including a 65-yard run.

Abington Heights (8-1) finishes the season with Honesdale at home.

Berwick

Dallas’ two-point conversion failed and the Bulldogs held on to a 14-13 Wyoming Valley Conference Division 3A win.

Jared Pierce rushed for a one-yard score and Lou Hampton added another score on a 68-yard run.

Berwick (7-2) travels to Hazleton Area.

North Pocono

North Pocono scores 32 points in the first half as the Trojans rolled over Honesdale 39-6.

North Pocono rushed for 323 yards and quarterback Matt Smith completed 6 of 10 passes for 60 yards. Smith also rushed for 73 yards on four carries.

Nick Batzel added 80 yards and one score. Frank Butash rushed for 66 yards on 6 carries and one score.

North Pocono (8-1) hosts West Scranton.
