Dover vs. South Western

The game opened with the Dover Eagles receiving the ball first.  Dover was unable to move the ball into scoring position and had to punt.  The South Western Mustangs scored on their initial drive on a touchdown run by Senior Zac Scott making the score South Western 7 Dover 0. 

On Doverʼs next possession Senior quarterback Steven Ferry fumbled the ball back to South Western.  South Western put another score on the board when Senior quarterback David Sager threw a 41-yard TD pass to Senior Drew Sneeringer putting the Mustangs up 14-0.  On Doverʼs next possession they drove the ball into South Western territory but had to punt.  South Western drove the ball deep into Dover territory on their next possession but had to settle for a FG by Senior Zac Kruger making the score Mustangs 17 Eagles 0.  On the drive South Western Quarterback David Sager was injured and did not return to the game. 

Dover had to punt again on the following possession.  On South Westernʼs next drive junior quarterback Ian Smith came in to replace injured quarterback David Sager.  Smith had a nice run on 4th and about 3 yards for a first down to set up a touch down run by junior fullback J.R. Mummert.  The score was now Mustangs 24 Eagles 0. 

On Doverʼs next opportunity with the ball, senior running back Vaughn Hebron had a great run taking the ball from Doverʼs 20 all the way to the South Western 22-yard line.  A pass from Ferry to senior receiver Andy Wolfgang set up a six-yard TD run by Hebron putting Dover on the board for the first time making the score Mustangs 24 Eagles 7. 

South Western had one more opportunity with the ball before half and missed a 38-yard field goal attempt.  On South Westernʼs first drive of the secondnd half Smith was intercepted by senior defensive back Carlos Rivera.  Dover was unable to do anything with the opportunity and had to punt the ball away.  South Western scored on itʼs next chance with the ball when junior Jeb Shipley ran the ball in from 25 yards out putting South Western up 31-7.  Dover punted once again on its following possession.  And at the end of the thirdrd quarter the score was still 31-7. 

On South Westernʼs next possession they went for it on fourth down and converted once again setting up a TD run by J.R. Mummert putting the Mustangs up 38-7.  On Doverʼs following possession quarterback Steven Ferry completed a pass to Rivera setting up a three yard TD run by Hebron making the score 38-14. 

On the ensuing kickoff senior Chris Helwig had a great return for South Western and would have scored if not for Hebron catching him and making the tackle.  South Western scored once again on a five yard TD run by senior Mike Brant.  The score was now 45-14.  On the  Kickoff Rivera took the ball all the way to the house for a Dover score making the score 45-21.  On the Mustangʼs next drive they scored once again on a 36-yard TD run by junior Kyle King.  The extra point was no good making the score 51-21 and that would be the final score.
