One of Dunmore’s offensive linemen, Paul Gaughan, has received Division-1 attention and some scholarship offers.
One of the Bucks’ returning defensive linemen is generating quite a lot of Division-1 interest and attention also.
Jerry Hubshman, a 6’4, 260-pound defensive tackle for Dunmore, has received interest, but no scholarship offers, from 10 Division-1 programs, according to his profile on Rivals.com. The majority of the schools interested in Hubshman hail from the Big 10 and Big East conferences.
UCONN, Indiana, Michigan State, Northwestern, Pitt, Rutgers, Syracuse, Temple, West Virginia and Wisconsin have all shown interest in Hubshman, according to Rivals.
Hubshman totaled 20 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and recovered a fumble for the Bucks last season. He was part of a Dunmore defense (including reserves) that allowed 121 points in 13 games (9.3 points per game), holding eight of 13 opponents to nine points or less, with one shutout.
No team scored more than 14 points in any game against Dunmore last season.
The Bucks, 47-7 overall (.870) since the start of the 2006 season, won their third consecutive District 2 “AA” championship (5th overall) and ran off 12 consecutive victories before being eliminated by West Catholic, 13-0, in the PIAA playoffs in 2009.
