The Pitt Panthers have landed yet another four-star recruit in their 2011 recruiting class – the latest coming from eastern Pennsylvania.

Kyshoen Jarrett, a RB/CB for East Stroudsburg South High School, verbally committed to Pitt today during a press conference at his school, according to EasternPAFootball.com’s David Mika. Jarrett chose Pitt over Penn State, among other programs.

Jarrett had more than a dozen scholarship offers from programs all across the country, ranging from coast to coast (UCONN to Stanford) and also included programs like Cincinnati, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan State and Wisconsin. Earlier in his recruiting process, Jarrett had received interest from programs like Miami (FL), Notre Dame and Rutgers.

Rated as a four-star prospect at defensive back, Jarrett had a solid all-around season, tallying 37 tackles and three interceptions on defense and running for 596 yards and six touchdowns on 53 carries and snaring 15 passes for 260 yards on offense. Jarrett averaged 11.25 yards per carry and 17.3 yards per reception.

Jarrett is Pitt’s fifth four-star commit this recruiting class, and third four-star prospect from Pennsylvania. Pitt also landed Pottsgrove’s Terrell Chestnut and Bishop McDevitt’s Jameel Poteat.

Pitt’s 2011 recruiting class currently ranks 13th in the nation, according to Scout.com. Pitt is the highest-ranking Big East conference representative in terms of 2011 recruiting class rankings.

East Stroudsburg South posted one of its best seasons in school history last season, winning 11 games and scoring more than 470 points, earning a berth in the District 2/4/11 AAAA subregional semifinals against Parkland.
