I’ll say it again, Coatesville is a young team and that was game 2. I don’t think anyone can say that they haven’t played well since then and have won 6 straight — including D-East — a good team that they handled pretty well (probably why the rankings are the way they are). If one watches any of those games I think they would conclude their defense is pretty good, and Aaron Young has become one of the best backs in the state. Not sure why you are so hung up on the rankings. If CV is as good as you think they are then they can prove them wrong.
@Chief…
“lost 41-21 — CV had a pick 6 as part of it”
when you are forced to pass 26 times because you can’t RUN the ball (70 yards – less than 3 yrds/carry against CV) those picks will continue to happen and are part of the game. For the record Coatesville only had 14 points against CV’s first team defense. The last Coatesville TD came in garbage time late in the 4th quarter and against mostly subs. CV piled up 270 yards rushing (5 yards/carry) against Coatesville. CV had only 65 yards (<3 yrds/carry) rushing against State College. Coatesville's defense will be their downfall when they play the other elite teams. Just my opinion but let's play the games and we'll see! That's why we all love HS football. Cheers, and have a great Friday night. -Mike
Not that it matters but I’m not sure why Neshaminy has been out ranking North Penn all year? The National Conference may be weaker than the American this year. Some of Neshaminy’s games were close.
Coatesville has a very young team with a freshman QB and they have greatly improved since week two (lost 41-21 — CV had a pick 6 as part of it). I’ve watched/listened to most of their games and their defense is pretty good — check out the games archived on 3ctvlive. Rankings don’t really mean that much anyway.
Also no love at all for dist 2 no Delaware Valley and Williamsport all year do u guys see anything Williamsport is one of the most talented team in the Eastern half of the state be Potts is only a soph has over 2000 yards already this kid will be a div 1 recruit
@mika. I don’t understand how Wyoming Valley West isn’t even a team to watch they lost to 6a Williamsport and Delaware Valley both great teams watch they will end up winning dist 2 then winning first round of states against dist 11 playing in Eastern conference semis against Archbishop Wood it’s not that hard to see!!!!!!!!!
I think you aren’t giving some teams any respect in here! How can you have Bermudian in the AAA teams to watch when 2 of the teams they played so far have lost every game they have played and another team I think only won 2 games! I think another school in the YAIAA needs to be on your watch list before them and that team is Littlestown! They have played a tougher schedule so far.
I detect a little bias in these ratings. There are many good football teams outside of east and SE PA. Coatesville ahead of Cumberland Valley and Central Dauphin is a joke. CV beat them by 4 TD’s if you don’t count the last Coatesville TD against the 2nd and 3rd string CV players. Coatesville is pretty good with some good athletes but their defense will not hold up against the better teams.
