Week No. 4 brought more great football action throughout Northeast Pennsylvania. In AA competition, DUNMORE moved to an impressive 4-0 start courtesy of a 35-13 win over rival, LAKELAND. The Bucks proved once again that they are deserving of a high PA State ranking with fantastic Senior leadership from QB, Miller Holmes and Offensive and Defensive Linemen, Ryan Eitutis and Justan Mitchell. Head Coach Jack Henzes has now moved into the State’s No. 3 ranking for all time coaching victories at 322.
In the A Class, RIVERSIDE remains unbeaten with a nice 32-20 win over VALLEY VIEW, despite missing the services of star tailback, Joe Klebon. The Vikings are surely a contender in the A category. Equally impressive is the fact that RIVERSIDE has bested both AA (VALLEY VIEW) and AAA (WEST SCRANTON) contenders.
In the AAA Class, AB INGTON HEIGHTS scored a mighty 48-13 victory over traditional rival, WEST SCRANTON. The Comets opened with a one point loss to HAZLETON AREA, but have rebounded now with 3 straight victories. The Comets will be a force in the AAA playoff picture. BERWICK also kept pace with their 4th straight victory to remain unbeaten.
Other District 2 winners included HAZLETON AREA; HANOVER AREA; SCRANTON; PITTSTON AREA; WALLENPAUPACK; LAKE LEHMAN; WYOMING AREA; SCRANTON PREP; MID VALLEY; MONTROSE and CARBONDALE.
Good Luck to all teams in Week 5 and See You On the Sidelines!!!
