FROM THE SIDELINES: BY LARRY SPEGAR
Week No. 15 draws to a close with the much anticipated State Finals now on the horizon for this coming weekend Dec. 18 and 19 at Hershey. The Best of Pennsylvania High School Football will now come forth and play for the coveted Gold Medal in Hershey.
In A action, it was BISHOP McCORT advancing to the Finals with an exciting 43-28 win over TRI-VALLEY. An experienced and seasoned team, BISHOP McCORT will now head to Hershey in a matchup with defending Runnerup, CLAIRTON, who outlasted FARREL 13-7 for the Western A crown. Good Luck to both in the A Final.
In AAA action, MANHEIM CENTRAL is back to their dominating ways with an impressive win over WEST ALLEGHENY in the Western Final. A State Champion in 2003 and a Runnerup in 2004, the Barons of MANHEIM CENTRAL are back for more, this time coming out of the Western bracket to face newcomer, SELINSGROVE, who brings an undefeated record into the much anticipated AAA Final on Friday night in Hershey. The Seals have come up short deep into playoff action on prior occasions, but SELINSGROVE is hoping that this is the year they bring home the Gold. Good Luck to both powerhouse programs in their quest for the Gold.
See You On The Sidelines!
