Welcome to the last weekend of the regular season. Let’s get right to the action from Week No. 9 and just one weekend left before the playoffs begin.

In District 2 A competition, OLD FORGE remains undefeated and looks poised to stay that way for a great finish courtesy of a 28-6 over MID VALLEY. The Blue Devils were simply too much for the AA Spartans and OLD FORGE is looking good for future competition.

In AA, DUNMORE stays unbeaten with a close 14-6 win over HANOVER AREA. The Bucks are destined to finish the regular season at 10-0 as well. Also, DUNMORE is now enjoying top billing in the State with a well deserved No. 1 ranking among AA schools statewide. The Bucks are in the hunt for a deep run in the playoffs. Remember a State Runnerup in 2007, followed by a top eight finish in 2008. Perennial favorites, DUNMORE will be heating up for a run at Hershey.

In AAA, both NORTH POCONO and ABINGTON HEIGHTS remain the cream of the crop in District 2. The Trojans easily handled HONESDALE 39-6, while the Comets surged past TUNKHANNOCK 37-6. It would be fitting to see these two powerhouse programs meet yet again in the District 2 Playoffs.

Rounding out District 2 action, SCRANTON PREP beat VALLEY VIEW 13-0; WEST SCRANTON picked up a nice win over WALLENPAUPACK 34-20; LAKELAND handled a good WESTERN WAYNE team 36-21; DELAWARE VALLEY edged out a hard fought 14-8 victory over SCRANTON; and RIVERSIDE got the best of MONTROSE 46-0.

Good Luck to all teams in the upcoming final Weekend No. 10. Due to a trip to the Midwest, “From The Sidelines” will next appear with a wrap up of Week No. 11 action. Keep playing hard for the Playoffs is truly a new season with a State Title at stake and 10 weeks of experience to the credit of these football players, coaches and programs.

See You On The Sidelines!!
