@Rollie i completely agree with you nosovitch makes that whole team go because nobody can deliver the pass attack he can even with those explosive receivers i dont think an average backup would put up half the numbers he put up. valley view was darn competitive but at the same time they were powered by that running tandem with 3 backs who ran pretty effectively although it was against a pretty bad run defense. its really hard to compare the 2 teams because they have different styles of play. i just think if valley view played in the same conference as ACC they would have had a tougher time because there were a few offenses who were almost the same caliber as ACC thats why i rank them just ahead
Where’s Calvary Christian Academy? Bicentennial League Champs. 8-3 played just as good if not better against pius x with only 23 players. They deserve Honorable Mention!
I agree with these rankings more than PFN’s rankings. In my opinion PFN overrates district 7, while underrating district 3.
Three district 3 teams made the state championship (won 2), while district 7 had 1 team in the state championship (won 1).
An example of this is how in AA, they have three district 7 teams in the top 10, while only 1 team from district 3 (state champion LC) cracked the top 10.
Wyomissing from was beating LC the whole game, but ended up losing on a TD with 3 minutes left (21-14), giving LC their closet game other than WC in the state semis.
Although the only thing that matters is ranked number 1 (who wins states), I thought I’d just voice my opinion.
Merry Christmas
Adam…I think ACC should be slightly ahead of Valley View. But to me ACC is powered by Nosovitch, Gulyas and Snider-Scipio…with Nosovitch as trigger-man being the most important. Pass defense is so hard in HS because who do you practice against. In that Valley View game, if Nosovitch were knocked out of the game (God forbid), Valley View would have beat them 54-0.
i dont really see how acc who beat valley view is ranked below valley view it doesnt make a whole lotta sense? i guess you could say acc got lucky with turnovers that game and prob should have lost but still a wins a win so that dont make much sense i agree with shamokin not making it they clearly stand no chance especially against a way below average defense in acc
AAA…the first 8 are spot on. I’d have had Franklin Regional 9 and ACC 10. Got no problem with Shamokin absent…fluke. In AAAA I’m ok with Nazareth ahead of USC. I would have expected PCC higher. Other than that, not bad.
Berwick even got an honorable mention and they didn’t even win districts. I think his job at the standard journal is getting the better of him, lol
I agree, normally I don’t have to much to say to Funkster with his rankings. A lot of the times by the end of the year they are pretty good, but these final rankings this year make me scratch my head, lol.
Seriously?
These are pretty bad. Nazareth ahead of USC and PCC in 4A??? Valley View ahead of ACC in 3A???
I see Clearfield get honroable mention though and didn’t shamokin beat Clearfield. I think thats kind of shady that Shamokin’s not mentioned and they are. Clearfield probably shouldnt be there or Shamokin should be at least.
I like how Shamokin one of the final 8 teams in AAA didn’t even make honorable mention. Probably rightly so.
