Funkster,
C’mon bro! I’m not even a Wood fan, but putting McDevitt and ACC above them? Crazy man.
Well … alright, I’ll back off a bit. I can rationalize you saying, “ACC beat Wood last year and I want to see it first”, but McDevitt is no contest. Wood would chew them up and spit them out. Heck, my squad barely made honorable mention AAA, so I don’t have a dog in the fight, but Wood is an absolute machine this year with a healthy Desmon Peoples, Nate Smith transferring in and Ulus Jordan at cornerback.
ACC beat them without Desmon and without Ulus in the secondary last year.
This year they’ll have to face Ulus and Des at corner and Nate Smith at safety. Going to be a beat down in my opinion.
McDevitt? I loved Matty Ice, but I don’t think that game would be within two TDs.
Pretty good job in AA. Picking Seton LaSalle so high is not popular but is accurate. They are loaded this tear and should nose out the Quips for the WPIAL title. South Fayette however lost most everything and will be fortunate to win 5 games.
D12, there are some really good AA teams across this state. I will say that Bok has given WC competitive games the last two years. Last year’s 34-6 final was a little misleading.
Typically, Bok plays this game not lose and hopes that WC panics when they don’t jump out early. It has worked to a degree, but eventually superior talent takes over.
Bok’s problem is that it is so vanilla on offense and it’s hard for them to score, which is why they have just 13 points in 3 games vs Wc over the last 3 seasons. They have some solid offensive players, but usually lack that game-breaker or two. Their staff does a great job in preparing them and Trom is a great defensive coach, so this keeps them competitive for a while.
Best of luck!
@buddy: thanks, didn’t know that.
Huck…I know your work and respect your opinion. I was a little upset when Bok was not mentioned in the list so yes the word “manhandle” is extreme. They have a lot of talent coming back and have superior athletes compared to other AA schools in the state (except WC). That I dont think you can argue.
In regards to their schedule, you are again correct. However, every game they play is a division game that they have no control over (except for Southern who is a rivalry game). Blame public league officials for the idiocracy of having division playoffs. Either do it the PIAA way or get out.
@ kevin:
There’s another blog on this website that allows you to do exactly that.
@ ed:
Neshaminy & LaSalle are not overated, especially Neshaminy. The Quad A & triple A picks on this site are right on . Better than the staff’s picks on this home page ( no offense staff).
No berwick in 3a? Where do these guys get there sources from? I could do a better job with these pathetic preseason polls.
I’m back because I just noticed D12’s last sentence. Manhandle everyone else in the top 10? C’mon bro, get a grip, and a little reality.
I respect the Bok program and who knows, but maybe your prediction will carry some weight down the line. However, will they please play someone!!! For the love of God, that schedule is brutal and will do nothing to prepare them for a game with WC down the line.
Big Single A matchup week 1 when two top 10’s battle it out for Single A recognition early on…Southern Columbia hosting Line Mountain. Exciting players to watch for SCA on both sides of the ball will be Brad Fegley, Matt Moore, Tom Schetroma, & Cam Flore. See if the Tigers are real right off the bat this season
Neshaminy and lasalle both over rated but will make playoffs
Please Please listen carefully pennsylvania high school football crazies.Bok Tech (yes I know a philadelphia public league team) is going to challenge west catholic for the district championship this year. I know no one other than the Burrs are probably nodding their head to that statement. You have to give them Bok their props. Not even having them as honorable mention is a slap in the face to that program as they would manhandle any other team ranked in the top 10.
DelVal should be ranked right with Liberty, Easton and Parkland
Where’s Danville in AA?
what about mahanoy they looked good against both willamsvalley andbloomsburgh blake rankin from bloom was shut down in scrim .he is commited to rutgers wnep had them ranked and mahanoy dominated both sides of ball look for big things from mahanoy as well as marian they gave all to northern lehigh . and looked very good this past weekend.
