The Stroudsburg Mounties had an amazing win on September 8th against their hometown rivals just across the bridge, the East Stroudsburg South Cavaliers. Every year the two teams go head to head for the Little Brown Jug that Stroudsburg has won for now the 8th consecutive year.
With a tough start at first the Mounties managed to come up with just two touchdowns and a fumble recovery late in the first quarter.
After this slow start, the Mounties continued to go up hill with another two touchdowns in the second quarter. By the half, they led 27-0 score in favor of the Mounties.
After halftime, the Cavaliers came back better and stronger with the first major event of the half, an interception.
This soon turned into a touchdown at a time of 7:18 and a successful field goal in the third quarter. At this point, the Cavaliers were on the board 27-7 going into the fourth.
To end this battle, the Mounties scored once more at a time of 7:36 in the fourth. Then held the Cavaliers to no points until the very end at a time of 1:58 they score another touchdown. Soon after the buzzer went off for the end of the game with a Mounties’ win 34-13 and have claimed the Little Brown Jug once more.
