Marple-Newtown’s Adrian Sapnas sets the school’s single game rushing record

marple_newtonAdrian Sapnas rushed for 257-yards on 25 carries to set the school’s single season rushing record. Cimmirow Moat held the previous record in 2011. He rushed for 256 yards against Sun Valley.

The guys that paved the way for Adrian were TE Noah Turner, LT Kyle Kelly, LG Pat Carr, C Ryan Rhoades, RG Matt McKee and RT Luke Lozowicki. Dom Talluto also worked in a bunch of positions that night.

“The offensive line did a great job opening holes for Adrian. Their energy and effort Friday night was impressive.”

Adrian had two long touchdown runs of 75 and 88.

“Both of them were big runs and once he got out in the open he was gone.”

Last year in seven games he led the team in rushing with 813 yards on 118 carries and seven touchdowns.

“He was our leading rusher last year and missed the first three games. He didn’t start playing until the fourth game.”
