Coaches Comments: During Mason’s first varsity game as a sophomore two years ago, he led the team with 16 total tackles against Conestoga. He has not slowed down since then. Mason really has sideline to sideline speed/quickness, making some of his most impressive stops chasing down quarterbacks 20-30 yds across the field to keep them to a no gain.
Had it not been for a few bumps and bruises here and there during the season, Mason would have broken the school record for tackles. Even so, he surpassed 100 tackles and was voted Second Team All-Central League and Team Defensive MVP. Coming off a winter when he was a Wrestling Captain, we are expecting big things from Mason.
