McDonald’s Lehigh Valley All-Star Football Classic This Thursday, June 13 at 7:30 pm

The 53rd Lehigh Valley All-Star Football Classic is set for Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Nazareth Area High School. This year, the Red Squad [Lehigh, Carbon, Monroe Counties] takes on the Gold Squad [Northampton County, Phillipsburg, Palisades]. This year, the game will feature full Cheer Squads featuring talent from across the Lehigh Valley.
 
This year, the Red Squad will be led by head coach Brady Mutton [Pen Argyl], and Blaec Saeger [Pleasant Valley] will helm the Gold Squad. The Cheer Squad is led by coach Alexandra Feinman [Lincoln Leadership Academy].
 
The Lehigh Valley Harmonizers will honor America with the singing of the National Anthem, then the game kicks off at 7:30pm.

St. Luke’s Orthopedic Care is the Official Sports Medicine Provider for the Lehigh Valley All-Star Football Classic.

This year, the All-Star Classic’s Honorary Captain will be Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Nakobe Dean. He will join the Red and Gold Team Captains on the 50 yard line for the coin toss. 
 
A Georgia native, Nakobe Dean played college football for the University of Georgia Bulldogs. During his three-year career at Georgia, Nakobe tallied 89 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 2 interceptions, and 1 touchdown. In 2021, he won the distinguished Butkus Award, given annually to the nation’s best linebacker. In 2022, he was a key member of Georgia’s National Championship-winning team. After capturing a National Title, Nakobe declared for the NFL Draft. He was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles with the 83rd overall pick. He appeared in all 17 games as a rookie, winning an NFC Conference Championship and playing in Super Bowl LVII against the Kansas City Chiefs.
 
About the Lehigh Valley All-Star Football Classic: The McDonald’s Lehigh Valley All-Star Football Classic enters its 54th year in 2024. Last year, the game raised $30,000 for the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Each year, the game features the top talent from the Lehigh Valley area high schools and is considered one of the best high school football all-star games in the country. Notable alumni of the game include Matt Millen (Whitehall, Penn State, Oakland Raiders/San Francisco 49ers), Andre Reed (Dieruff, Kutztown, Buffalo Bills), Gregory A. Delong (Parkland, North Carolina, Minnesota Vikings), and Noel LaMontagne (Southern Lehigh, Virginia, Cleveland Browns), and Justin Morabito (Bethlehem Catholic, Stanford) among many others.
