Coaches comments: Bobby Shelly is not only an outstanding football player, but also an outstanding young man. A leader by example, Bobby works extremely hard both in the classroom and on the gridiron. During his senior season at Northern, we expect Bobby to be a key contributor in all phases of the game.
Offensively, we will rely on Bobby to line up at both tailback and fullback, and to shoulder much of the load in our downhill rushing attack.
Defensively, we will rely on Bobby to set the edge against the run and be solid in multiple pass coverage schemes from his outside linebacker position. Furthermore, we will rely on Bobby to wear many different hats on special teams, and to use his size, strength, and athleticism to make big plays.
Currently being recruited by multiple NCAA FCS-level programs, we have every confidence that Bobby will continue his academic and football careers at the next level, and will do so with as much commitment, dedication, and success as he has during his career at Northern.
