“Dom is so gifted and talented and is a once in a life time player,” said head football coach Chris Eiswerth. “He’s such a role model to the younger kids in our community.”

At times there were eight, nine and sometimes 10 players stacked in the box and he still was able to run away from defenders all year.

Bragalone fell 40 yards short of breaking a national record for rushing yards in a single-season. In 1950, John Giannantonio of Netcong (NJ) rushed for 4,756 yards in eight games.

“It’s amazing to think he was that close to a national record.”

His junior year he rushed for 3,268 yards and 48 touchdowns. He finished his career with 8,730 yards rushing which ranks him third in state history behind Hopwell’s Rushel Shell with 9,078 yards. Steelton-Highspire’s Jeremiah Young is second on the list with 9,027.

“I think people don’t realize how hard he prepared for the season. He put hours and hours of running and lifting to prepare for the season.”
