Philadelphia Catholic League Players of the Week Week 3 – Sept. 18, 2019

Offensive Player of the Week

-Danny Dutkiewicz – Lansdale Catholic – RB – Senior

Dutkiewicz continued his strong start to the season as he put the Crusaders on his back in a hard-fought, 14-9, road victory at Conwell-Egan. An instinctive and savvy rusher, Dutkiewicz sliced his way through the Eagles’ defense for 183 yards on 23 carries. After scoring an early 21-yard touchdown, he sealed the game late in the 4th quarter with a 10-yard score. He added one catch for 16 yards to help his team’s cause. 

Defensive Player of the Week

-Tyrone Fowler – Bishop McDevitt – DE – Senior

The rangy Fowler was a fixture in the O’Hara backfield as the Lancers opened league play with a suffocating, 26-0, win. Fowler notched three sacks in the game that accounted for 15 yards in losses. He also added three other solo tackles. 

Special Teams Player of the Week

-Jake Gandolfo – LaSalle – K/P – SeniorGandolfo was his typical steady self this past Saturday in helping the Explorers overcome an early deficit on the road at Haverford School. He converted all five of his extra-point attempts and booted a 33-yard field goal. He also launched three kickoffs into the end zone for touchbacks. Though he wasn’t asked to punt much his lone attempt traveled 61 yards.
