Offensive Player of the Week

Kyle Lazer – Bonner-Prendie – QB – Senior

The Friars steady signal-caller started hot Saturday night in his team’s 42-7 drubbing of Archbishop Ryan. He capped B-P’s first two possessions with long strikes for touchdowns covering 49 & 60 yards. For good measure, he added a 38-yard scoring pass in the third quarter. All total, Lazer passed 11-for-16 for 212 yards (Career high) and three TDs.

Defensive Player of the Week

Robert Jackson – Archbishop Wood – DE – Senior

The Vikings’ emerging defensive end was active throughout in his team’s, 28-to-7, victory over Roman this past Saturday. Early in the fourth quarter, and with the Cahillites inside Wood’s 20-yard line, he combined (sr. DE David Armstrong) for a strip-sack and snagged a loose ball out of the air before rumbling 87 yards for a nail-in-the-coffin score. For the game, Jackson finished with 8 total stops (.5 sack/TFL) to help pace a Vikings’ defense that allowed just 135 yards in offense.

Special Teams Player of the Week

Johnny Pergine – Bishop McDevitt – LB – Junior

In the Lancers 42-6 pasting of Pottstown Pergine was a force throughout. In a dominating third quarter Pergine blocked a punt, chased it down, and returned it 8 yards for a touchdown. This special team’s highlight was simply a carryover from his play on defense, as he led McDevitt with 6 total tackles, including a sack and two other TFLs that accounted for 22 yards in losses.
