Joe Early Palomar Head Football Coach on the loss: “We knew Saddleback’s defense were fast off the ball we had to make some adjustments at halftime and improve ourselves in the second half, we moved the ball well and had a chance at the end very short first touchdown, we broke our coverages and they had third and long plays which ended up taking too much time, the Saddleback special teams had blocked our punt for a touchdown which didn’t work well for us.”

” Matt Romero is having a decent first year here and there is a lot that we have to evaluated on him but he will improve every game, in other areas we have to get our backs in the rushing department is to improving with the ball.” “Rob Ursua is our tight end made nice catches for us and Isaiah Guerrero played a good game as we have some positives this time it is tough no one likes to lose but we will get back at school and to focus on Grossmon.” “Today we had trouble on our kickoff returns as we did well on returning the ball but having a punt blocked for it to be a touchdown we had some depth issues with guys being injured the guys that are filling up and contributing we have to address the team on Monday.”

For the Comets at 3-6 and are currently on a 3 game losing streak, qb and former Oceanside High product Matt Romero was 26 completions out of 49 attempts for 256 yards and threw 3 touchdown passes of 15 yards to Lamont Chaney 4 receptions for 28 yards, 80 yards to Robert Ursua 6 receptions out of 85 yards and 4 yards to former Oceanside High Johnny Arzola 5 receptions for 36 yards.
