After three seasons as head coach at West Chester East, Dave took over the helm as head coach in 2017 at Malvern Prep. Back in the 2009 and 2010 season, he was the quarterback coach at Malvern. He was offensive coordinator at Harriton in 2011 and moved to Episcopal Academy serving as the offensive coordinator in 2012 and 2013.

In two seasons as head coach at Malvern, he has guided his team to two Inter-Ac titles and a 17-4 record.

With Malvern Prep’s undefeated season and the team’s 11-0 record, this is only the second time in league history this happened. The other team to do it was Germantown Academy 1903.

 Q. What stood out about your team this season?

We had great senior leadership and team chemistry.  We also had great contributions from talented underclassmen who helped us reach new heights.   This team had amazing resolve in the face of adversity.

Q. What makes your staff great and how have they helped you throughout the season?

This staff is very special because of the high level of character these men possess.  We have a staff of great men who love to mentor and coach young athletes.

Q. How did your team impact your community this year?

We impacted the community in many ways, namely bringing recognition to what we do at Malvern Prep that goes unnoticed to most folks who are not familiar with Malvern Prep, namely our service work in different states and countries for those people who have been negatively affected by a natural disaster or strife.
