The North Schuylkill Spartans have had quite an impressive run the last two seasons, reaching consecutive District 11 AA championship games.  One of the athletes helping to pave the way for NS’ potent offensive attack is potential Division-1 prospect Jonathan Green.

Green, a 6’3, 290-pound offensive guard, has received interest, but no verbal scholarship offers, from 10 total Division-1 FBS & FCS programs, according to national recruitng service Scout.com.  Interested parties include East Carolina, Illinois, North Carolina, Penn State, Pitt, Rutgers, Vanderbilt, Villanova, Virginia Tech and West Vriginia.

Green was part of a Spartan offensive line that helped to pave the way for an arsenal that averaged 325 yards (264 rushing, 61 passing) and an impressive 38.3 points per game last season.  NS’ offensive production yielded four rushers with between 445 and 1,095 yards and a 730-yard passer.  All told, the Spartans scored 459 points on the season (believed to be a single-season school record) and recorded 59 offensive touchdowns (47 rushing, 12 passing).

North Schuylkill finished 11-1 in 2010, narrowly losing the District 11 AA championship game to eventual PIAA AA quarterfinalist Northern Lehigh, 25-23.  In the last two seasons, North Schuylkill has posted an overall record of 24-2 (.923).
