Fr. RB/LB Jeremiah Tellus 5’10 195
Jr. C/DT Justin Wilson 6’1 260

2023 Offensive Outlook: In 2023 we will have a new staff and a new QB. Competing for the starting job is Jr. Mahir Jordan 5’11 160 and Jr. Lamont Brown 6’3 215. Both players are very talented with unique skill sets so there will be a package for each no matter who the starter is. Sr. Ernsaun Moore 5’7 130 and Jr. Dymere Durham 5’10 170 are not big on the outside but run well and are very talented at the WR position. This year there is no one feature back but there is a number of players who will get carries and be a difficult matchup in the Slot. Jr. David Akpuru 5’10 180, Jr. Jiaire Green 5’8 175, Jr. DeShawn Woodhouse 5’10 200, and Fr. Jeremiah Tellus 5’9 190 will all get touches. The success of this season will be how well the Offensive Line plays. There are no returning full time starters and only one Senior who is competing for time. The group will be lead on the inside by Jr. Justin Wilson 6’1 260 and Sr. G Jeremiah Jaje 6’4 370. We will be young and undersized at tackle but have a number of talented young players with tremendous upside.

2023 Defensive Outlook: The defensive side of the ball is returning more guys with playing experience than the Offense. We hope to remain similar to the Northeast defenses of the past few years and be very aggressive and bringing pressure. The defensive side will be lead by a very talented and physical LB and DE group. Jr. Naseem Wertz 6’3 215 is returning from injury and just continues to get better and impress each day. Northeast has had a number of FBS DE in the past few years and Naseem may be the next one. The MLB core is big, fast, and physical Sr. George Truitt 6’2 215 is the leader of the group and has a large amount of FCS interest with one offer this summer already. Sr. Najae Davis 5’11 215 and Jr. DeShawn Woodhouse 5’10 200 are equally as talented. In the secondary we will again be undersized but have solid players with great football IQ. Jr. SS Tawhiid Miles 5’10 185 is the vocal leader and brings the energy for the defense. Jr. Mahir Jordan 5’11 160 and Jr. Demetrius Israel will get the reps at FS while Jr. Jiaire Green 5’8 170 and Jr. David Akpuru 5’10 180 will be the Nickel. Starting WR’s Sr. Ernsaun Moore and Jr. Dymere Durham will be playing double duty starting at Corner as well.

2023 Special Teams Outlook: One of the few returning Starters in the program is Sr. K Ibrokhimbek Juraboev 6’1, 180 who handled all the kicking duties last year and will be looked upon to punt this year as well. We are still looking to find our Long Snapper an Return Men.
