Using precision and poise Sidwar was surgeon-like in LaSalle’s rousing, 34-3, week 1 win over North Penn. All totaled, he completed 13-of-18 passes for 321 yards and three touchdowns. This is second straight year the Explorers’ young signal-caller has laid it on the Knights. In last year’s opener, he threw for 204 yards and four scores.

Special Teams Player of the Week:
-Dane Pizzaro – Father Judge – Sr. – K/P
The Crusaders fell to CB South in their season opener, but Pizzaro shined. He punted four times for a 43.8 average and a long of 57 yards. On the other side of the ball he converted a 33-yard field goal and his only point-after attempt in the game. Pizzaro also added two touchbacks.
Multi-Purpose Player of the Week:
-Jacahi Streeter – Lansdale Cath. – Jr. – RB/DB
Streeter made his presence felt throughout the Crusaders’ 36-14 win over School of the Future, as he contributed on both sides of the ball. Streeter scored three touchdowns in different manners. Offensively, he paced LC with rushing (11-96) and receiving (3-41) scores. On the flip side, he neatly pouched the ball from a Future back and then raced 78 yards to paydirt. Streeter finished with 215 all-purpose yards on just 8 touches and made three tackles, too.
Spectacular in Defeat:
-Frankie Mawson – Ryan – Jr. – QB
-Damien Morgan – Ryan – JR – WR
-Bryce Werner – Ryan – Jr. WR
The Raiders’ junior triumvirate went wild in their heartbreaking, 37-34, defeat to Archbishop Wood this past Friday night. Trailing, 31-0, at one juncture, Ryan fought back to take a 34-31 lead in the fourth quarter. Alas, the Vikings scored late to secure that wild win. Still, the efforts of these three didn’t go unnoticed. Mawson (29-for-39, 447 yards & 4 TDs) not only broke the school record, but he bested the PCL number (SJP’s sr. QB Samaj Jones 420 yards last year) in the process. He seemingly went back in fourth to Morgan (12-194-1) and Werner (9-148-2) throughout the game. Morgan’s total yards set a new mark for the Raiders (Nick Ferdinand 190 yards in ’06). Morgan also finished with 286 all-purpose yards in the game. Though such records aren’t kept, but Morgan’s and Werner’s combined reception totals likely nears or sets a record for two receivers in a game.
