Offensive Player of the Week:
-Noel Campbell (Bonner-Pren. – Soph. – QB): Campbell continued his strong and consistent play with an impressive, 21-for-24, marksmanship in the Friars, 28-21, win over the Lions in the 4A PCL title game. This efficiency was good for 259 yards and a trio of passing scores. Campbell became just the second Friar signal-caller surpass 2,000 yards in a season.
Offensive Honor Roll:
-Yeboa Cobbold (Lansdale Cath. – Jr. – QB): Cobbold was sensational in the Crusaders 2A Sub-regional triumph over Bristol. He accounted for 291 yards of offense and 4 total TDs. He was a pinpoint, 11-for-12, 217 yards through the air and added a 74-yard TD run.
-James Webb (Lansdale Cath. Jr. – WR): Webb made four catches for 137 yards and scored twice on long touchdowns of 65 and 66 yards, respectively.
-Semaj Beals (Roman – Jr. – QB): Beals had a less than active day for him, but did pass for 144 yards on a 12-for-13 showing in the Cahillites win over Frankford. Thrice he found the end zone on scoring passes. Furthermore, Beals became the all-time single-season passing leader in city history. He now has 3,192 yards and counting.
-Jalil Hall (Bonner-Pren. – Sr. – WR): The rangy and athletic Hall made 8 catches for 116 yards and a score in BP’s win over O’Hara.
-Khyan Billups (St. Joe’s Prep – Jr. – RB): In the Hawks hard-fought 6A PCL title win over Lasalle, Billups battled for 102 yards on 22 totes. Twice he found the end zone.
-Ramier Hardy (St. Joe’s Prep – Sr. – WR)): Hardy provided a spark in the Hawks air attack with 7 grabs for 124 yards and a 58-yard scoring play.
Defensive Player of the Week:
-Abu Fofana (Con,-Egan – Jr. – DB): In the Eagles 24-12 win over Gratz, Fofana made a pair of interceptions; including a 18-yard return for a touchdown on one of them. He added four tackles to go along with the picks.
Defensive Honor Roll:
-Chris Ulmer (Lansdale Cath. – Sr. – LB): Ulmer once again spearheaded the Crusaders defense with 11 tackles and a TFL.
-Freddy DiNardo (Roman – Jr. – DL): Dinardo was a force in the Cahillites’ overpowering of Frankford. He finished with 6 tackles; including two sacks, another TFL, and forced/recovery of a fumble.
-Khalil Holley (Bonner-Pren. – Sr. – DL): Holley was his active self with 8 total tackles (7 solos), a TFL, and a pass defend.
-Ashton Woodard (Bonner-Pren. – Jr. – LB): Woodard hustled for 8 total tackles and two sacks in the Friars win over O’Hara.
-Cam Smith (St. Joe’s Prep – Sr. – LB): Smith anchored the Hawks defense with seven stops (5 solos), including a sack and a pass defend.
Special Teams Player of the Week:
-Johnny Austerberry (Con.-Egan – Sr. K/P): Austerberry was reliable and effective in the Eagles win over Gratz. He punted twice for a 42.5 average. Furthermore, he made all of his kicks by converting three point-after tries and nailing a 31-yard field goal.
Multi-Purpose Player of the Week:
-Masiia Acrey (St. Joe’s Prep – Soph – KR/DB): Acrey got the Hawks headed in the right direction with a huge 71-yard kickoff return to start the game. This led to a Hawks touchdown in their tight win over rival Lasalle. He also notched four tackles, made two pass defends, and made a critical interception in the end zone to help secure another St. Joe’s Prep berth in the 6A City championship game.
Spectacular in Defeat:
-Joey O’Brien (LaSalle – Jr. – WR/DB): O’Brien wrapped up a sensational junior campaign with a strong outing in his team’s loss to St. Joe’s Prep. He made 6 catches for 126 yards, including two touchdowns covering 30 and 66 yards. Defensively, he had four tackles, made three pass defends, and added a pick for the Explorers.
