Offensive Player of the Week:
-Semaj Beals (Roman – Jr. – QB): It was another record-setting afternoon for Beals, as he tossed three scoring passes giving him 36 total for the season, which is a new PCL record. His 18-for-27, 257-yard outing pushed him to 3,048 passing yards on the season. Only the second city quarterback to eclipse this barrier. He is now just 4 yards from the season city record. To boot, he broke the city career records for completions (540) and attempts (945).
Offensive Honor Roll:
-Rayshawn Scott (Roman – Sr. – WR): Scott made 7 catches for 92 yards and a touchdown in Roman’s dismantling of Father Judge in the PCL 5A final. The yards output gave him Roman’s single-season receiving yards record. He became just the 12th city player to accumulate over a 1,000 yards receiving in a season. Scott now has 1,023 on the year. The City/PCL record for a season is 1,208 yards.
-John Welde (O’Hara – Jr. – QB): Welde was an efficient, 9-for-11 with 217 yards and one score in the Lions win over Ryan.
-Amahj Gowans (O’Hara – Je. – RB): Gowans turned just 9 carries into 58 yards and three touchdowns for the Lions in their win over Ryan.
Monty Zoryea (Con.-Egan – Sr. – RB): Zoryea put forth a workmanlike performance with 25 totes and 142 yards with one touchdown in the Eagles 21-0 victory over the Saints.
Nick O’Brien (Lansdale Cath. – Jr. – RB): O’Brien dashed for 131 yards and two scores on just 13 carries, as the Crusaders pulled away from KIPP Charter.
Defensive Player of the Week:
-John Brown (O’Hara – Sr. – LB): The rugged and active Brown swarmed to 13 tackles in O’Hara’s comfortable win over Archbishop Ryan. Ten of his stops were of the solo variety.
Defensive Honor Roll:
-Chase Walters (Con.-Egan – Jr. – DT): Walters spearheaded an Eagles defense that held Neumann-Goretti scoreless and to negative-41 yards rushing. He accumulated 2.5 sacks amongst his five stops in the game. Those losses netted 27 yards.
-Christian Palmer (Roman- Sr. – DB): In Roman’s blowout 5A PCL title win over Judge, Palmer returned an interception 37 yards for a score and added a fumble recovery.
-Saeed Robinson (Lansdale Cath. – Frosh. – DB): Robinson snatched two picks in his team’s comfortable win over KIPP Charter. He also added a pair of tackles.
Special Teams Player of the Week:
-James Webb (Lansdale Cath. – WR/DB/KR): Webb returned three punts for 83 yards, including a long of 57 yards. At receiver, he hauled in four passes for 79 yards and a pair of scores, as the Crusaders advanced in the D-12/1 Subregional with a win over KIPP Charter, 42-14.
Multi-Purpose Player of the Week:
-Khalil Epps (O’Hara – Sr. – WR/DB/KR) Epps was magnificent in O’Hara’s 44-23 win over Ryan. Offensively, he made 4 grabs for 142 yards. On the other side of the ball, he made his 8th interception on the season and added four tackles. He wasn’t finished and unleashed a 89-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
Spectacular in Defeat:
In Ryan’s loss to O’Hara, Morgan had 8 catches for 66 yards and a touchdown. He added a two-point conversion reception and made a pair of tackles on defense.
