Offensive Player of the Week
Semaj Jones – St. Joseph’s Prep – Soph. – QB
In a relief appearance, Jones was sensational in leading the Hawks to a hard-earned victory over Bethlehem Freedom, 24-21. After entering the game in the second quarter the Hawks’ dynamic signal-caller rushed for three scores and 143 yards on 10 carries. He also completed a pair of passes that accounted for 73 yards. With the Hawks leading by just three points, Jones took a quarterback keeper and raced 73 yards with 9:50 left to make it, 17-7. Then, after Freedom drew within, 17-14, he capped a scoring drive with an 11-yard burst with 2:11 left in the game. After missing the last month or so with an ankle injury, Jones seems back to resembling the player he was in the early portion of the season.
