Offensive Player of the Week
Alan Paturzo – LaSalle College HS – Sr. – QB
–Paturzo was once again efficient and accurate in leading the Explorers to a beyond convincing win over Roman Catholic. Just three weeks ago the Cahillites knocked off LaSalle, 27-20. This week there would be no such letdown for the talented Explorers, as they blasted Roman to the tune of 45-0. Paturzo directed an offense that rolled to 401 yards. Included in this was 10-for-13 marksmanship for 234 yards. He threw for just one score in the game, a 45-yard strike to sr. WR Ryan Sorge, but also unleashed significant completions of 33, 40, and 41 yards throughout the game. Paturzo is now completing over 69% of his passes on the season.
Defensive Player of the Week
Jayzen Flint – West Catholic – Soph. – LB
-The rangy Flint was a headliner in the Burrs’ upset victory over Conwell-Egan in the PCL 2A Final. In the team’s regular-season meeting the Eagles rocked the Burrs to the tone of, 36-0. So, this outcome definitely surprised many who follow the league closely. Flint notched 7 tackles. Included in these were a pair of sacks that accumulated 17 yards in losses. Flint ended up being one of six Burrs’ defenders who contributed at least six tackles in the 18-13 win.

Antonio Chadha (Sr. – K/P) & Noah Klick (Sr. – DL)

-We’re going to share this honor this week as both of these Hawks made significant contributions in their team’s exciting, 17-14, victory over Archbishop Wood in the PCL 6A Semifinal this past Friday night. To close the first half, Klick broke through the Vikings’ line and blocked a 39-yard field goal attempt. By eliminating these three potential points, it gave Chadha a chance to break the tie in the final minute of the game. The strong-legged Hawks’ kicker did just that, as he belted a game-winning 34-yard field goal with just 55 seconds left. Chadha added three touchbacks in the game and now possesses an amazing 97 such occurrences in his distinguished career. He also punted effectively five times for a 38.6
