Offensive Player of the Week:
-Gavin Sidwar – LaSalle – QB – Soph.
-Sidwar was terrific in the Explorers’ exciting, 38-35, win over Calvert Hall (MD) this past Saturday afternoon. He completed an efficient 28-of-40 passes for 369 yards. Five times he found the end zone on throws. Remarkably, he connected with 11 different Explorer receivers in the game.
Offensive Honor Roll:
-Terrence Page – Neum.-Gor. – Soph. – RB: Rushed for 181 yards on 20 carries and trio of rushing scores.
–Avery Hankey – Bonner-Pren. – Sr. – RB: Paced the Friars once again with 197 yards on 26 tough carries and a 25-yard touchdown.
-Dazshaun Hopkins – Roman – Sr. – RB: Dashed for 132 yards on 29 carries and a 10-yard touchdown.
-Semaj Beals – Roman – Soph. – QB: Once agin lit up the night with 307 yards and three scores on a precise 24-for-36 showing.
-Jah Jah Boyd – Roman – Sr. – WR: Took in 5 catches for 136 yards and pair of scores covering 64 and 30 yards.
-Yeboa Cobbold – Lansdale Cath. – Soph. – WR: Made six grabs for 65 yards and two touchdowns (19 & 37 yards).
-Joey O’Brien – LaSalle – Soph. – WR: Had an acrobatic moment or two with 6 receptions and 110 yards.
Defensive Player of the Week:
-Samir Dean-Thompson – Roman – Sr. DL
-Was present early and often in the Cahillites, 33-25, victory over Father Judge Friday night. SDT made nine total stops (7 solos); including a sack and two other TFLs.
Defensive Honor Roll:
-Daniel Adeflorain – Neum.-Gor. – Jr. – DE: Made seven total stops with a fistful going for losses.
-Hugh Owens – Ryan – Jr. – DL: Recovered a pair of fumbles and took one 95 yards for a touchdown. Added three tackles.
-Sean Broderick – Judge – Sr. – DL: Amassed seven solo tackles amongst his nine stops and managed a blocked PAT.
-Chris Dalton – Ryan – Sr. – LB: Earned double-digits tackles with 10 (6 solos), while adding a 29-yard interception return, one TFL, and a pass defend.
-Chris Ulmer – Lansdale Cath, – Jr. – LB: Contributed massive losses (38 yards) on a pair of sacks and another TFL (6 total tackles), while adding a forced fumble and a pass defend.
Special Teams Player of the Week:
- Alex Repko – SJ Prep – Jr. – LB:
- David Washington – SJ Prep – WR – Sr.
- Masiia Acrey – SJ prep – DB – Frosh.
-The Hawks triumvirate each notched a special team touchdown in the Hawks rout of Archbishop Wood. Repko started the scoring with a 3-yard scoop-and-score off a blocked punt. Soon after, Washington added a 39-yard punt return score. Lastly, the youngster Acrey zipped home on a late 51-yard punt return.
Multi-Purpose Player of the Week:
-Mick Johnson – Bonner-Pren. – Jr. – RB/KR/OLB
–Johnson was turbo-like all game in the Friars’, 30-to-15, win over Ryan last weekend. Defensively, he was a man possessed with 9 total tackles, including 2.5 sacks and another TFL. The losses accumulated 30 yards. He added a pair of pass defends. His touches on the other side weren’t plentiful, but he did manage a 49-yard kickoff return and added ten yards on a single rush.
Spectacular in Defeat:
-Eric Smith – Father Judge – Sr. – RB/LB/KR
-Smith had his fingerprints all over the Crusaders’ tough loss to Roman (33-to-25) this past Friday night. Defensively, he was everywhere with 15 tackles (9 solos) and a 33-yard fumble recovery/return. As a returner, he managed 75 yards on a trio of kickoffs. Offensively, he rushed for 32 yards on 5 carries and added another 40 yards on 3 catches; including a 28-yard touchdown. All totaled, he mustered-up 180 yards on just 12 touches.
