Offensive Player of the Week

Mekhi Wharton (Soph/QB) & Trey Holsman (Sr./QB) – Wood

The Vikings’ signal-callers were highly efficient in their team’s 40-to-20 road win over Father Judge last Friday night. All total, Wharton (8-for-9, 170 yards, & 4 TDs) and Holsman (7-for-10, 121 yards, 2 TDs) went 15-for-19 for 291 yards and 6 passing scores. This duo routinely found open receivers and was highly effective in putting the ball on them for huge gains throughout the game.

Defensive Player of the Week

Matthew DuMond – SJ Prep – Jr. – DL

DuMond was active all night for the Hawks against a talented Middletown (DE) team in the Hawks’ business-like, 24-6, victory. He made an interception early for the Hawks but also spent a lot of time in their opponents’ backfield.  Amongst his seven tackles were 2.5 sacks and two other TFLs that accumulated 25 yards in losses. DuMond’s contributions help limit Middletown to just six points in the contest.

Special Teams Player of the Week

Brett Jackson – Conwell-Egan – Soph. – K/P

Jackson contributed nicely in the Eagles’ 36-0 whitewashing of West Catholic this past weekend. He went 3-for-3 on PATS, while also adding a 24-yard field goal. The steady placekicker for the Eagles also notched a pair of touchbacks on kickoffs
