Co-Offensive Player of the Week:
-Semaj Beals (Roman – Jr. – QB): Beals became the city all-time leading passer this past weekend behind his 15-for-24, 369 yards and 5-TD effort. The Cahillite gunslinger now has 6,927 career yards. Amazingly, he needed just 32 career starts to accomplish this milestone. On Saturday, in his team’s 54-24 win over Father Judge, his 15 completions went for an average of 24.6 yards. While his five touchdowns covered 204 total yards.
-Damien Morgan (Arch. Ryan – Sr. – WR): Morgan broke the career receiving yards record for the Raiders in his team’s 29-7 win over Archbishop Wood. The savvy and shifty Morgan now has 1,509 career yards. He tied a Ryan record with 14 receptions in the game, finished with 149 yards, and scored two touchdowns. He turned his only rush into a 23-yard gain.
Offensive Honor Roll:
-Charlie Foulke (St. Joe’s Prep – Soph. – QB): Foulke was efficient and steady in the Hawks 35-14 win over O’Hara. He ended with 220 yards and three scoring passes on a 14-for-19 showing.
-Gavin Sidwar (LaSalle – Jr. – QB): Sidwar was clinical in the Explorers 35-13 win over upstart Bonner-Prendie. He finished 15-for-17, with 206 yards, and a pair scoring throws. He passed 5,000 (5,018) career yards in the game.
-Rayshawn Scott (Roman – Sr. – WR): Was involved throughout for the Cahillites and contributed 123 yards on 5 receptions; including two receiving touchdowns.
-Angelo Rossi (West Cath. – Jr. – RB): Displayed shiftiness and quickness with 124 yards on just 11 rushes. He scored a touchdown in the Burrs second win of the season.
-Frankie Mawson (Arch. Ryan – Sr. – QB): The steady Mawson accounted for all four of Ryan’s scores in throwing for three and adding a rushing touchdown.
Defensive Player of the Week:
-Chase Walters (Con.-Egan – Jr. – DT): Walters was a fixture in the Saints’ backfield throughout, as the Eagles blanked N-G, 14-0. Walters notched a pair of solo sacks, shared two other sacks, and added two additional TFLs for good measure. All totaled, these plays accumulated 23 yards in losses.
Defensive Honor Roll:
-Sincere Fairey (Con.-Egan – Sr. – OLB/DE): Fairey was active throughout the Eagles’ impressive defensive effort. He made 8 stops, including 2 sacks and one other TFL.
-Danny Celins (Arch. Ryan – Sr – DE): Celins recovered a pair of fumbles in the Raiders 29-7 win over Wood.
-Chris Ulmer (Lansdale Cath. – Sr. – LB): In LC’s 30-14 win over Carroll, the rugged Ulmer paced the Crusaders’ defense with a team-high 11 tackles; including 5 TFLs (27 yards in losses).
-Darren Jackson (Lansdale Cath. – Jr. – DE): The athletic Jackson scored a critical 11-yard touchdown off a fumble recovery and posted seven tackles (Sack).
-Jemel Williams (LaSalle – Jr. – DL): Williams’ play early spearheaded the Explorers in their impressive win over Bonner-Prendie. He finished with 5 tackles, while forcing and recovering a fumble.
Special Teams Player of the Week:
-James Dolan (LaSalle – Sr. – DB/WR): Dolan made a statement early for LaSalle when he snuffed out a punt on Bonner-Prendie’s first possession. LaSalle scored the game’s first touchdown a short time later and never looked back. Defensively, Dolan contributed with 3 tackles and 2 pass defends.
Multi-Purpose Player of the Week:
-Will Felder (Roman – Sr. – WR/DB): Despite only being used sparingly in Roman’s, 54-24, throttling of Judge, the talented and often dynamic Felder made two huge plays in the game. As a receiver he turned his only reception into a 92-yard score. Later, he added a 51-yard touchdown on an interception.
Spectacular in Defeat:
-Khalil Epps (O’Hara – Sr. – WR/DB): Epps caught 9 passes for 142 yards; including a 49-yard touchdown in the Lions’ loss to St. Joe’s Prep. He added 41 yards on a trio of returns. Defensively, he added a tackle and two pass defends.
