Offensive Player of the Week:
Tyler Yerkov – Father Judge – QB – Junior
Yerkov produced his best passing game of the season going 9-for-17 for 166 yards and three scores. His scoring strikes went for 13, 54, and 50 yards. Also, his 12 rushes for 54 yards led the Crusader ground game. In total, Yerkov’s efforts produced 220 yards thru the air and on the ground, as Judge won an exciting contest, 28-to-21, over Archbishop Wood.
Defensive Player of the Week:
David Spinelli – Archbishop Ryan – DB – Freshman
In the Raiders, 29-to-6, victory over Cardinal O’Hara, Spinelli had a team-high seven solo tackles. He also snatched a pair of interceptions with one of them going 28 yards for a breathing-room-providing touchdown.
Special Teams Player of the Week:
Tyseer Denmark – Roman Catholic – KR/PR – Junior
The dynamic Denmark made his mark late in the second quarter when he calmly fielded a LaSalle punt and raced 55 yards untouched for a touchdown. The score expanded the Cahillites’ lead to 12-0 just before halftime. Denmark’s four punt returns accumulated 81 yards and finished the game with 153 all-purpose yards in Roman’s 31-14 win.
