Offensive Player of the Week:
-Gavin Sidwar (LaSalle – Jr. – QB): Sidwar shook-off a couple of early miscues and quickly reset into what he’s been all season for the Explorers. The efficient and accurate signal-caller finished 17-for-23 for 205 yards and 3 TD passes in LaSalle’s whitewashing of O’Hara, 48-0. A match-up with powerful rival St. Joe’s Prep looms.
Offensive Honor Roll:
-Isaiah West (SJ Prep – Sr. – RB): The dynamic West turned his 7 carries into 138 yards in the Hawks win over over Judge. The last of his carries in the game went for an 83-yard score.
-Charlie Foulke (SJ Prep – Soph. QB): Foulke played a clean game and showed 12-for-15 marksmanship in his team’s convincing win over Judge. He ended with a pair of passing touchdowns and 147 yards through the air.
–Nick O’Brien (Lansdale Cath. – Jr. – RB): O’Brien piggybacked on last week’s performance with another stone outing in the Crusaders hard-fought win over Wood. He finished with 117 yards on 20 carries and a touchdown.
-Christon Mitchell-Brown (Ryan – Sr. RB): CMB was rugged throughout and paced the Raiders offense to the tone of 153 yards on 26 tough carries; including a touchdown.
–Frankiw Mawson (Ryan – Sr. – QB): Mawson continued his consistent play with a 4-touchdown effort in Ryan’s comeback, 34-to-27, win over Conwell-Egan. Mawson’s final score, a 1-yard sneak proved to be the difference. He added 3 touchdown passes and 148 yards via the air.
Defensive Player of the Week:
-Chris Ulmer (Lansdale Cath. – Sr. – LB): The Crusaders’ rugged backer, who also serves as an offensive line leader, paced his team’s defense with a team-high 12 tackles. Four of these stops went for losses. This output put him over the 200-tackle barrier (205) for his career.
Defensive Honor Roll:
-Simaj Hill (SJ Prep – Jr. – DB): Hill returned an interception 30 yards for a touchdown, added a fumble recovery, and made three tackles in the Hawks win.
-DonJuan Clark (Neum.-Gor. – SR. – LB): Clark paced the Saints defense with 7 total tackles, two went for losses, a forced fumble, and a pass defend.
-Russell Holmes (Lansdale Cath. – Jr. – OLB): Holmes finished with 9 total tackles, including three for losses in the Crusaders win over Wood.
Special Teams Player of the Week:
-James Webb (Lansdale Cath. – Jr. – KR/PR/P): The Crusaders’ handyman was a factor throughout for the LC specialty unit. He punted six times for a 32.7 average. Returned two kickoffs a total of 75 yards. Lastly, he fielded three punts for fair catches that undoubtedly saved the Crusaders in field position.
Multi-Purpose Player of the Week:
-Mick Johnson (Bonner-Prendie – Sr. – RB/OLB/S): Johnson continues to shine for the Friars. Blessed with a remarkable blend of athleticism and determination this kid is one of the more impactful players in the area. In B-P’s impressive win over Roman he scored four touchdowns on the ground and added a 2-point conversion. He finished with 136 yards on 23 totes. Defensively, he contributed a team-high 9 tackles; including a TFL.
Spectacular in Defeat:
-Yasin Lowry (Wood – Sr. – RB): The tough and often relentless Lowry maintained his strong play in his team’s close loss to Lansdale Catholic. He finished with 173 yards on 29 grueling runs. Twice he found the end zone.
