Offensive Player of the Week:
-Samaj Jones – SJ Prep – QB – Sr.
-After missing a week due to a bum shoulder, Jones regained form with a total of three touchdowns. In the Hawks’, 45-24, victory over Lakeland (FL), Jones rushed for two scores (12-55) and tossed another 40 yards. All totaled, he passed for 161 yards with a 6-for-10 showing.
Offensive Honor Roll:
-Sidique Kamara – O’Hara – Soph. RB: Bruised his way to 100 yards rushing and a touchdown on 11 carries.
-Cole Meehan – Lansdale Cath. – Sr. – QB: Turned in an efficient, 11-for-13, 133-yards, and 3 scoring strikes outing.
-Jah Jah Boyd – Roman – Sr. – WR: Made six catches for 103 yards.
Defensive Player of the Week:
-Hasaan Bailey – Arch. Carroll – Sr. – DB
-Bailey kept up his early-season interception spree with two more pilfers in this contest. Bailey has totaled four picks in the early going thus far. In the Patriots, 16-8, triumph over Gratz, Bailey turned one interception into a 97-yard touchdown. This score proved to be the winning point for the Pats in a game with a defensive flavor.
Defensive Honor Roll:
-Colin Walker – Con.-Egan – Jr. – LB: Notched two sacks amongst his eight total stops and recovered a fumble.
-Sincere Fairey – Con-Egan – Jr. – OLB: Scooped up a fumble and returned it 17 yards for a touchdown.
–Luke Van Brill – Roman – Sr. – LB: Paced the Cahillites defense with 9 tackles and a 60-yard fumble return for a touchdown.
-Jaasai Simmons – Roman – Jr. – DE: Hustled for 2.5 sacks and one other TFL.
-Daniel Adefolarin – Neum.-Gor. – Jr. – DE: Registered a sack amongst his five tackles (3 TFLs) and provided a returned fumble 17 yards.
-Thomas Gonglik – Judge – Sr. – DL: Made four tackles, including 2.5 sacks (27 yards in losses).
–James Wright – Arch. Carroll – Sr. – LB: Earned his keep with 15 total tackles, including 11 solos. Two went for losses.
–Omillio Agaard – SJ Prep – Sr. – DB: Provided a pick-six of 34 yards while adding another PD and four solo tackles.
–Sean McNulty – SJ Prep – Sr. – DE: Returned a fumble 70 yards for a score and notched 1.5 sacks for the Hawks.
-Khalil Epps – O’Hara – Jr. – DB: Epps made a pick and returned a short backward pass for a touchdown.
Special Teams Player of the Week:
-Dane Pizzaro – Judge – Sr. – K/P
-Pizzaro once again put forth a business-like performance as Judge eased past neighborhood rival, Archbishop Ryan, 35-14. He was perfect on all five point-after attempts and made sure the Raiders returned game never saw the light of day with five touchbacks on kickoffs.
Multi-Purpose Player of the Week:
-Owen Suah – West Cath. – Sr. – WR/KR/DB
-In the Burrs late-in-the-game defeat to Steelton-Highspire. Suah was excellent. He reeled in scoring strikes of 11 and 42 yards, and all totaled snagged 8 balls for 124 yards. Defensively, he added an interception and one tackle. As a returner, he contributed 50 yards on two kickoff returns.
Spectacular in Defeat:
-Gavin Sidwar (Soph. – QB) & Julian Mcfadden (Jr. – WR) – LaSalle:
-In the Explorers’ loss to an outstanding Bishop McDevitt team, the combination of Sidwar and McFadden had their moments. Sidwar was 20-for-29, with 265 yards and two passing scores of 65 and 23 yards. His main target on this night was McFadden who hauled in 6 catches for 131 yards.
