Offensive Player of the Week:
-Avery Hankey – Bonner-Pren. – RB – Sr.
– Hankey’s efforts helped the Friars roll to 336 yards rushing in their resounding win over Carroll, 33-7. Hankey totaled 230 yards on 22 totes. He scored three touchdowns covering 44, 10, and 26 yards, respectively.
Offensive Honor Roll:
–-Tyler Yerkov – Father Judge – Sr. – QB: Tossed three scores and accumulated 248 yards on a 23-for-37 showing.
-Julian McFadden – LaSalle – WR – Jr.: Hauled in 7 catches for 119 yards and a pair of scores covering 14 and 29 yards.
-Samaj Jones – SJ Prep – Sr. – QB: Completed 11-of-20 passes for 155 yards and three touchdowns (35, 11, & 12 yards).
-Semaj Beals – Roman – Soph. – QB: Dropped back 53 times in heartbreaking loss to powerful DeMatha. Completed 30 passes for 293 yards and three touchdowns.
Defensive Player of the Week:
-Sean McNulty – SJ Prep – Sr. – DE
– McNulty helped pace a stingy Hawks defense in their comfortable, 28-7, win over North Jersey power Don Bosco Prep. For the game, McNulty registered 8 tackles; including a half-of-sack and two other TFL. However, his biggest moment came when he neatly snatched a short pass and took it 69 yards for a game-clinching defensive score.
Defensive Honor Roll:
-Gavin Pond – Con.-Egan – Sr. – LB: Paced the Eagles with 9 tackles (8 solos), including a sack and three other TFLs.
-Brian Shrimp – Con.-Egan – Jr. – DE: Hustled for 7 total stops, including a pair of sacks.
-Zion Knox – O’Hara – Sr. –OLB: Played a spirited game with 11 tackles (8 solos) and 1.5 sacks.
-Ivan Bailey-Greene – SJ Prep – Sr. – DT: Led he Hawks with 10 tackles, including a half-of-sack and two other TFLs.
-Malachi Williams – Bonner-Pren. – Sr. – DE: Made his presence felt with a pair of sacks and one TFL amongst his 6 stops.
Special Teams Player of the Week:
– Jack McKinney – O’Hara – Sr. – K/P
– McKinney was rock solid for the Lions in a, 7-0, triumph over West Catholic last week. In a game with a defensive flavor, field position became ultra-important and McKinney did his part to make sure the Burrs didn’t get much life in the return game or positioning once getting the ball. Two of his six punts eclipsed 50 yards (38.7 Average), while his hang-time was sensational all evening. McKinney blasted both of his kickoffs well into the end zone for touchbacks.
Multi-Purpose Player of the Week:
-Stevie Davis – LaSalle – Sr. – RB/K
– The reliable Davis put forth a strong performance in two areas in the Explorers dismantling of Haverford School, 38-16. Offensively, he rushed 22 times for 142 yards and a score. As the team’s primary kicker, he successfully converted all five of his point-after attempts, while also belting a 26-yard field goal.
Spectacular in Defeat:
-Yasin Lowry – Arch. Wood – Jr. – RB/LB
-Lowry ran hard and displayed ruggedness on defense in the Vikings, 34-20, defeat at the hands of Germantown Academy. He turned 25 totes into 129 yards and two scores. Defensively, he registered four tackles with three being of the solo variety.
