Philadelphia Catholic League Players of the Week (Week of September 26th, 2024)

Offensive Player of the Week:

-Frankie Mawson (Arch. Ryan – Sr. – QB): Mawson accounted for five total touchdowns in the Raiders, 35-20, win over Carroll. He passed for 92 yards and three scores. On the ground, he carried 9 times for 73 yards and two more scores.

Offensive Honor Roll:

-Isaiah West (SJ Prep – Sr. – RB): Rushed for 101 yards on 18 carries and two scores as the Hawks outlasted Our Lady of Good Counsel (MD).

-John Welde (O’Hara – Jr. – QB): Welde went 16-for-23 for 232 yards and one passing TD in the Lions convincing win over St. Andrew’s (CAN).

-Sincere Fairey (Con.-Egan – SR. – RB): Turned 12 carries into 121 yards and three scores as the Eagles pulled away from West Catholic.

Gavin Sidwar (LaSalle – Jr – QB): Sidwar stayed hot with a 15-for-20, 271-yards showing in LaSalle’s demolition of Episcopal. Sidwar tossed for three scores and eclipsed 50 TD passes for his career (Now at 51 total) in the game.

-John-Patrick Oates (LaSalle – Jr. – TE): Oates was a force in the Explorers’ resounding, 48-3, win over Episcopal. He finished with 7 catches for 115 yards and a TD (57 yards).

-Christon Mitchell-Brown (Ryan – Sr. – RB): Rumbled for 177 yards on just 18 totes in Ryan’s win over Carroll.

-Jalil Hall (Bonner-Pren. – Sr. – WR): Demonstrated man vs boys tendencies in the Friars smacking of Haverford School. Ended with 118 yards on 5 catches; including a pair of TDs.

-Noel Campbell (Bonner-Pren. – Soph. – QB): Campbell maintained his stellar early-season play with a 12-for-21, 214-yards and a pair TDs effort over the Fords.

 

 Defensive Player of the Week:

-Cameron Smith (St. Joe’s Prep – Sr. – LB): Smith finished with 9 total tackles, including a sack and three other TFLs. His tackles for losses accumulated 20 yards in the Hawks hard-fought win over Maryland toughie Our Lady of Good Counsel.

Defensive Honor Roll:

-Anthony Sacca (St. Joe’s Prep – Sr. – LB): Sacca notched 7 tackles that included 1.5 sacks and another TFL. He forced fumble for Hawks, too.

-Kyreese Bradley (Neum.-Gor. – Sr. – LB): Bradley hustled for 8 total tackles, a fumble recovery, and a pass defend in the Saints narrow win over Wood.

-Chase Walters (Con.-Egan – Jr. – DT): Walters registered a pair of sacks and one other TFL amongst his seven total stops in the the Eagles win over West Catholic.

-Jack Trzeciak (Lansdale Cath. – Sr. – DB): Made a pair of picks in the Crusaders shutout win over Chichester.

-Braeden Smith )Lansdale Cath. – Jr. – LB): Smith once again paced the Crusaders’ defense with a 10-tackle effort that included interception.

 

Special Teams Player of the Week:

-Will Vokolos (St. Joe’s Prep – Sr. – RB) & John Boggs (St. Joe’s Prep – Soph – LB): This duo combined for a huge play when Boggs blocked a punt and Vokolos scooped up the loose ball and returned it 27 yards for a crucial touchdown in the Hawks, 21-19, triumph.

Multi-Purpose Player of the Week:

-Nick O’Brien (Lansdale Cath. – Jr. – RB/DB): O’Brien was a factor on both sides of the ball, as he rushed for 89 yards and a score on 14 totes. Defensively, he registered 7 tackles, including a TFL and a pass defend.

Multi-Purpose Honor Roll:

-Mick Johnson (Bonner-Pren. – Sr. – RB/S): Johnson paced the Friars ground attack with 109 yards and a score. Defensively, he made four tackles and added five pass defends.

 

Spectacular in Defeat:

-Kal-El Durham (West Catholic – Sr. – QB):

Durham amassed 377 yards of total offense in the Burrs loss to Conwell-Egan. He passed for 187 yards and two scores. On the ground he racked-up 190 yards on 16 carries and rushing touchdowns covering 58 & 64 yards.
