Pennsylvania has its first Division-1 verbal commitment for its 2011 recruiting class – an offensive lineman from District 2.
Kevin Reihner, an offensive guard for Scranton Prep High School, verbally committed to Stanford Sunday, according to his profile on Rivals.com. Reihner is a 6’3, 275-pound athlete who runs a 5.1 in the 40 yard dash.
Reihner had seven other offers in addition to Stanford – Cincinnati, Minnesota, North Carolina State, Northwestern, Pitt, Rutgers and Syracuse. Duke, Illinois, Michigan, Penn State, and Virginia also showed interest.
Reihner anchored a Scranton Prep offensive line that helped pave the way for a 1,500-yard rusher in junior running back John Mariotti. The Cavaliers averaged 291 yards of total offense (220 rushing) and 24.4 points per game last season, finishing 7-4 overall.
