BETHLEHEM – The 2014 FASST Brader/Persa Offensive Skills Camp in Bethlehem Saturday was a display of football talent. Over one hundred athletes competed.
It was Easton’s Shane Simpson that stood out Saturday. Simpson won the Titanium MVP Award. Shane is a two-time winner of this award.
Simpson is poised for a big season this fall. “I have been working hard during the off-season with Jason and I am ready for my senior season,” said Simpson.
Last season he rushed for 1,109 yards and 14 touchdowns. He caught 30 passes for 279 yards and four touchdowns.
In 2012, Simpson finished the season with 1,147 yards rushing on 138 carries and 14 touchdowns. He also caught 17 passes for 295 yards and three touchdowns.
Here’s a list of the top performers from the camp.
Victor Santiago (Blowtorch- Top WR) caught eight passes for 134 yards and one touchdown. Victor will be a main target for Erney this year at Liberty.
Doug Erney (Iron Arm- Top QB) threw for 1,582 yards and 13 touchdowns for Liberty HS last season. He rushed for 145 yards and one score.
Trey Watson (Sledgehammer- Top RB) led Notre Dame in rushing with over 800 yards and six touchdowns. He caught four passes for 21 yards.
